Joe, we've got some breaking news. The Steelers are trading quarterback Joey Porter Jr. to the Cowboys.

Them boys. What'd you think about that, Joe? Hey, I love it. I love Joey Porter Jr. I think he's gonna be, obviously, going into a new scenery, bro, you wanna get out to a great start. You wanna show your importance to the team, and I think he gonna fit right in. Obviously, we know what we're dealing with defensively. We've had some woes, and we trying to fix them. I hope Joey Porter can come in and give us what we're looking for, that productivity, bro. It's hard for me to believe that the damn Steelers let that man get out the door like that.

Chad Johnson (0:39)

Yeah, yeah.

Shannon Sharpe (0:43)

Contract broke down. What'd they get for him? What'd they get for him? They traded him. What'd they get for him? What'd they give up?

He, the cornerback wanted to be played, paid like a top pearly at his position. But after Christian Gonzalez got four years, 135, Spoon got four years, 132 signed mega deals. Also Pittsburgh opted not to pursue a reconcerned deal and made the trade. Porter drafted with the 32nd overall pick in 2023 Draft was technically the first pick of the second round. Mammy Dolphins had to forfeit it after the league found them guilty of tampering. Don't say what they gave up to get him and didn't say if they see side of the extension.

Chad Johnson (1:30)

I like, I like this. I like this for him. New change of scenery, bad takes left of your mouth when you, you know, leaving a, leaving a Steelers franchise. You want to play ball. You want to play ball happily. And how do you play ball happily? When people reward you and understand the value that you bring to your team. Steelers weren't willing to do that. They didn't see him as an asset. I mean, I've watched him play for the past three years. He's really good. He's going to be right in your face, Uncle Joe.

First down, second down, third down.

You're going to have to beat him. You're going to have to beat him like a drunk. But that boy knows he can play some man coverage. Now, he doesn't have the resume or the accolades, you know, as some of the other, you know, the upper-echelon DBs. You know, your Stinglies and your Pat Surtains. But boy, that young bull could play some ball, boy. He can play some DB.

Shannon Sharpe (2:23)

And for me, that's all I'm saying. I'm not saying I don't think he's a quality corner because I do think he's a quality corner. But I don't think the Pittsburgh Steelers valued him, viewed him like the guys you just mentioned, the Christian Gonzales, the Spoons, the Surtains. I don't think they viewed him at that level of corner. And they're looking at it like, just because your contract is up, that doesn't mean you moved to the front of the line. Right.

But, Joe, you got got some guy to go opposite of Bland, but Bland has been bad since he got that contract. We're working some kings out, give us some time, man. You need to add some seasoning.

Chad Johnson (3:06)

Hey, Joe, what kind of kings are y'all working out, Joe?

Shannon Sharpe (3:08)

Defensively, we're getting some things straight, Ochocinco.

Chad Johnson (3:10)

Okay.

Shannon Sharpe (3:11)

We're trying to get him right, so we're going to add Joey Porter into this. He's going to fit in seamlessly.

Chad Johnson (3:17)

Okay.

Shannon Sharpe (3:17)

Let's get it going.

Chad Johnson (3:19)

I hear you.

Shannon Sharpe (3:21)

Look, I'm happy with it, but it's going to be interesting to see. You don't make this trade unless you plan on giving the young man some money. Facts. Now, it's going to be interesting to see what they're giving.

Chad Johnson (3:32)

Listen, that conversation was had before the trade even happened.

Shannon Sharpe (3:35)

That's my point.

Chad Johnson (3:36)

You know how the agents work. They don't play that.

Shannon Sharpe (3:40)

And it's a situation, no state tax. Yeah. That's a couple of million, three, four million dollars a year. Big bucks, no whammies, baby.

Let's get it.

Chad Johnson (4:05)

Excited.

Shannon Sharpe (4:07)

What you thinking, Ocho?

Chad Johnson (4:09)

No, I'm excited. I'm excited to see how they use him.

I mean, I know how they're going to use him and I know what he does well. I'm excited.

Shannon Sharpe (4:16)

Yeah, he's a press corner. He's a man corner.

Chad Johnson (4:22)

You still think they're going to lose, Sunday? Yep.
