Bill's Defeat the Steelers, 28-27. Steelers' Will Howard was hot early, throwing two touchdowns in the first quarter, and only four completions. He finished the day nine of 15, 69 yards, two touchdowns in the interception, rookie Drew Allar. Nine of 18, 88 yards, no touchdown. What you thinking?
Ochocinco, who's the backup to Rodgers? Is it Allar or Howard?
**Chad Johnson** (0:26)
Drew, Drew Allar.
**Shannon Sharpe** (0:28)
Okay.
**Chad Johnson** (0:29)
Hey, he didn't look good all pre-season. He been real sharp, Uncle Joe.
**Shannon Sharpe** (0:33)
Yeah.
**Chad Johnson** (0:33)
Real sharp. He's been, to me, he's had more of a commander to offense. Being able to use his legs. I'm not saying he's Lamar Jackson, but he's been a dual threat when nothing was there. He can make something out of nothing, you know, with his legs. His pocket presence been good. Throwing the ball has been good. I like him. He's probably the future.
Honestly, just to be honest, yeah, Drew IB to be. He looks like he's going to be the quarterback for the 4C of the future when Aaron Rodgers decides to hang it up if he really does make this his last year.
Yeah.
**Shannon Sharpe** (1:05)
Yeah. I thought it looked good too, Ochocinco.
**Chad Johnson** (1:08)
Yeah.
**Shannon Sharpe** (1:09)
I mean, it's funny seeing these guys out there. You see Frank Gore Jr., Frank Gore's son, Yeah. That's Mike Tom Zack Neville. Uh, he's uh, his uh, his uncle used to quarterback. T-Zack quarterback for the Bears and I think he's my brother's quarterback in Green Bay too for a minute.
But I thought, I thought the Steelers were playing really, really well. I mean, got a, but I thought both teams played well. I mean, in the preseason, you score 28 points, especially with all those moving parts. Ochocinco, you know, you're trying to get so many people playing time, Joe, and so it's a lot of moving parts. So if you can get 28 points on the board, hey, you gotta do pretty good about that.
**Chad Johnson** (1:54)
That's a good thing. And with the moving parts, you're trying to get them all to work in unison. That's the hard part, especially when it comes to the threes and the fours and those trying to make the team, Joe, you want them to be consistent.
Can we execute what we practice all week long and do it right consistently? Well, you score 28 points in the game, preseason game, with your threes and fours, ooh, but that ain't nothing but coaching, boy.
**Shannon Sharpe** (2:19)
Yeah.
**Chad Johnson** (2:20)
That ain't nothing but coaching.
**Shannon Sharpe** (2:22)
Asked if he believed all four quarterbacks had earned a roster spot, McCarthy described it as a very accurate evaluation. I feel good about our quarterback room. I've been saying it for quite some time and they've shown it on the field. We've got two veterans that we can win with and we got two young guys that we're excited about the future. Though McCarthy has never kept four quarterbacks in a 53-man roster throughout his 18-year coaching career, he strongly hinted throughout the preseason that this year will break his precedent.
He used to be a tight end coach in Kansas City, Ochocinco. When I went to the Pro Bowl my second year, he was my position coach. I would have never guessed Mike McCarthy would have been a head coach. But if you go back and look at it, think about the jobs he's had. Green Bay, Dallas, Pittsburgh. Tell me another coach that's had three more impressive NFL head coaching jobs than that right there, Joe Ochocinco.
Green Bay, Dallas, Pittsburgh.
**Chad Johnson** (3:21)
Hey, phenomenal organizations, phenomenal organizations.
**Shannon Sharpe** (3:29)
The teams that he's coached, they got 15 Super Bowls between the three of them. Damn. Packers got four, Cowboys got five, Steelers got six.
He's been the head coach of all of them.
**Chad Johnson** (3:44)
He won one with Rodgers, didn't he?
**Shannon Sharpe** (3:46)
No? He won one with Rodgers, yes.
**Chad Johnson** (3:47)
Yeah.
**Shannon Sharpe** (3:48)

Hey, hey, with this last preseason game, how much can it affect the coach or the Ocho when they're making their cuts? Like, can you perform in the last preseason game where a coach can be like, you know what, we got to keep him or? Yeah, I did it. Oh, you did it. That's what you did. Your last game. Yes, last preseason game. They kept me because of what I did in the last preseason game. Oh, yeah.
The thing is that you hope you get to see it's different now because, but back then, Joe, we kicked the ball off. They kicked the ball off. Yeah. It wasn't that the kickoff like we got now. And you know, guys trying to make it, guys want to try to run the ball back. Okay, I'm trying to make it. I'm trying to get it down there and get a tackle. Damn. Boy, I was laying folk out.
