You're listening to the Hammer and Nigel Show.

**Hammer** (0:08)
All right, Nigel, as the official captain of the defending Nickelback fan club, nobody has defended the honor of Nickelback more than you have. There is a period where they were the butt of every single joke online.

**Nigel** (0:25)
Only because they were so popular.

**Hammer** (0:27)
You've gone to their concerts, you've bought their music, you have defended their honor. So what if I told you I've got the new single from Nickelback here?

**Nigel** (0:36)
Oh, yeah.

**Hammer** (0:38)
I'm going to play this for you.

**Nigel** (0:39)
Yes.

**Hammer** (0:40)
And you tell me if this moves the needle, OK?

**Nigel** (0:42)
OK.

**Hammer** (0:51)
We've got White Man Overbite. We've got White Man Overbite.

**Nigel** (1:00)
What's this called?

**Hammer** (1:02)
Rattle the cage. Is this something you would download illegally?

**Nigel** (1:09)
This is something I would pay to download. I will pay for it, I will be downloading it. I think it comes out in October, towards the end of October.
I got some iTunes bucks, I think I got some credits anyway, so yeah, definitely, for sure. That rocked. Rattle the Cage. Is that what you said the new single is?

**Hammer** (1:27)
Now, you're more of a music rock guy than pretty much anybody in this city. If I tell you John 5 is on guitar, does that do anything for you?

**Nigel** (1:37)
Not really. John 5 is one of those kind of hired gun guitar players that plays with everybody like Marilyn Manson and David Lee Roth and Rob Zombie and Motley Cruz.
So he's a good guitar player. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to say he jams, he shreds. But yeah, whatever. I'm just kind of whatever. I'm more interested in the album.

**Hammer** (2:00)
Now, Nickelback has had some vastly different sounds. Like that's a hard rocking guitar driven song. Now, in the past, they've had hits like Photograph. And we've taken Photograph and made the Hammer and Nigel Show remix.
How about some cover songs from Nickelback? Because they do a lot of covers.

**Nigel** (2:51)
All right, let's do it.

**Hammer** (2:52)
All week long, we're giving away Garth Brooks tickets. So let's hear a cover of Friends in Low Places by Nickelback. What do you think?

**Nigel** (3:20)
I like it.

**Hammer** (3:22)
I like it.

**Nigel** (3:23)
I don't know if I want to sing along to it at a Nickelback song, or at a Nickelback concert, that I paid for or not.
That's not bad. That's not bad. They didn't meddle it up.

**Hammer** (3:33)
That was recorded at a concert, or maybe they're just playing it for blanks and giggles.

**Nigel** (3:38)
Yeah, probably.

**Hammer** (3:39)
This is a cover that they actually released as a single.
And if you tell me that this is good, I'm going to walk over there and punch you in the mouth. It's their cover of The Devil Went Down to Georgia from the Charlie Daniels Band.

**Nigel** (3:52)
Oh no.

**Hammer** (3:56)
And he laid that gold guitar down on the ground. Why is he speaking like that?
There's no fiddle. It's about a fiddle content, and there's no fiddle there.

**Nigel** (4:15)
I like when it kicks in though. I like it when it kicks in.

**Hammer** (4:18)
There's no way you think this is good. Zero.

**Nigel** (4:20)
I'm not saying I would jam to it down the highway, but I do like it when the heavy guitar is kicked in. And you're right, there's no fiddle. You got to have a fiddle in this no matter what.

**Hammer** (4:30)
You know what? Just give me the photograph remix one more time.
