Nick Wright's AFC Predictions: Chiefs RETURN? Ravens back to NFL playoffs? Bills OVERTAKE Patriots?

We are recording this Thursday, July 23rd. You guys will be hearing this sometime around July, I don't know, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, something like that. This is what we're going to do. These are very quick episodes, and I say that very often, and then we do a regular 45 minutes. This one is the AFC. One minute per team.
I will be forced to move on. They will play a whistle once we do one minute on the team. This is something I used to do when I did radio in Kansas City. I first started doing this actually. We did 32 teams in 32 minutes nonstop as an A block. I think once a quarter during the NFL season, every month. This will be a nice little preamble. We're doing the AFC today. We'll do the NFC in a couple of days. So you guys have something in your feeds during the week while I'm off. Then we're back with our live shows first week of August. We will get started right now. And you can start the clock on me now. The AFC East, the Buffalo Bills. Obviously, the story with the Bills is Sean McDermott out, Josh Allen and Joe Brady in. And how will that impact the offense? How will that impact Josh Allen? And is DJ Moore enough of an upgrade to give Josh Allen a legitimate top flight receiving threat, which he has not had, not even since the final year of Stefan Diggs, but the second to last year of Stefan Diggs. I know some people believe this is no longer their division to win. And the reason you would believe that is because they didn't win it last year. I still think it is their division to win. I think Josh Allen, what he has now, the one thing he has over Patrick since Patrick's coming off the torn ACL is availability. He's never missed a game. He's always been there. So I think they are almost a lock for 10 wins. I also think they probably got worse at head coach and their Super Bowl chances did take a bit of a hit. Next, Miami Dolphins, new everything, new head coach Jeff Halfley.
Not over the moon about that. New quarterback Malik Willis. I do like the the gamble on Malik Willis. I feel bad and the low price on Malik Willis. I feel badly that Malik Willis is being asked to do it with a team that wants a sense that the only investment they had was in him and everything else. It's trade away their best players, get off bad contracts. It is smart for them to be turning this page. It puts Malik in a brutal spot. The Miami Dolphins are cleaning their books, moving on from Tyreek, moving on from Tua. This is the closest we will see to a team tank in the NFL since the Dolphins last tried to do it. Brian Flores wouldn't let him do it, and that's part of the reason he got fired. But this should be the worst team in football next year. Patriots, they won 14 games. They had the softest schedule this century in the NFL, not amongst playoff teams, not amongst Super Bowl teams. These softest schedule of any team since the 99 Rams. They also had, let's call it, an interesting off season with the Mike Vrabel, Diana Rossini story. That seems to be over, but that story is over until it is not. And I say that only because is there a chance that there is a massive shoe to drop on that story? That the person holding has been waiting until it would cause peak damage? I think there is a chance. So that's going to be just simmering in the background, if you will. The other story is how Drake Maye looked in the playoffs. Was that just young quarterback first playoff run, or was that quarterback finally facing real defenses, real teams, and showed some holes, also worried about Will Kamel on the offensive line? And then the Jets.
I mean, they brought Gino back.
They inexplicably also brought back their head coach. I like Gino.
I believed in Gino last year.
I think Gino probably is now on the down tick, so I don't think that's going to work. I also think they might, in Aaron Glenn, I don't want to be rude, they might have the worst coach in the NFL.
That is rude. There's no way not to be rude. The most interesting part about the AFC East is you have two teams that are legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the Bills and Patriots, and in the other two teams should be the two worst teams in the NFL in my eyes. In the Dolphins and the Jets. I don't have much to say about the Jets.
