Today is September 27th. New York Rangers News Today starts now. AI-powered and game-ready. I'm Corey with the story.

Alright, so big news for the New York Rangers as they kick off their uno-one-first NHL season. They're opening up against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night, making it the first time they've ever started a season in North America in September. That's a major milestone.

Also, this year marks the return of an 84-game regular season for NHL teams, which we haven't seen since 1993-94. That means a tighter preseason and training camp, so it's all about getting ready to hit the ground running. The Rangers roster looks pretty different from last year's last-place squad. They traded away veterans Vincent Trocheck and Will Borgen, and backup goalie Jonathan Quick retired. On the flip side, GM Chris Drury brought in some fresh talent like Pavel Dorofeyev and goalie Joonas Korpisalo, who should really shake things up. Good moves can change the game.

For now, the real spotlights on Igor Shesterkin and Adam Fox, who have to stay healthy if the Rangers want to compete. Shesterkin had a solid preseason, so let's hope that carries over. He looked strong and ready to roll as they head into the season. Looking ahead, it's a packed week with four games, including two on national TV. They faced the Lightning and Red Wings, and it'll be interesting to see how these matchups go, especially considering the back-to-back games. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
