Today is September 28th. All right, so the New York Rangers are gearing up for the season, and their roster is starting to take shape. With opening night against the Boston Bruins just around the corner, it's clear they've got plans in place.

One of the biggest questions was about where they'd slot in their off-season acquisition, Pavel Dorofeyev. They've decided to put him on the second line with JT. Miller, which could be a really exciting combo. That's a big one. Then there's the question of fifth overall pick, Alberts Smits. It sounds like he's made the team for opening night, which is great news. Shaping up like the right decision for the Rangers, for sure. There was some debate over who to pick at five, but it looks like going with Smits is paying off early. He's well regarded for being NHL ready and making the roster shows that confidence in him. So yeah, great to see the team trusting in a young talent. Smits has shown he belongs, especially in preseason. He's physically ready and doesn't hesitate to carry the puck, which is impressive for a young defenseman. With him in the line up, the Rangers look like they're on the right track this season.
