It's October 8th. All right, so The New York Rangers are off to an impressive start this season. After a rough opening night loss to the Boston Bruins, they quickly turned things around, stringing together four consecutive wins against some solid teams. They took down the Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, Utah Mammoth, and the New York Islanders. That's a nice turnaround, especially after struggling at home last season.

Fans were definitely feeling a little nervous after those home losses last year, but it seems like Madison Square Garden is back to being a fortress. Thanks to their hot streak, the Rangers just made it into the NHL Super 16 rankings, landing at number 6

They jumped from unranked to 6th place after the voters saw them earn 8 points, the most in the league so far. That's some serious respect from the panel for sure. The Rangers share the spotlight with newly ranked teams like the Winnipeg Jets and Pittsburgh Penguins. It's notable that the Rangers had votes for both the top and bottom of the rankings, showing that everyone's taking notice of their potential this season.

Goalie Igor Shesterkin has been lights out with a 0.926 save percentage and 1.75 goals against average. Plus, contributions are coming from all over the roster with 14 different players getting on the scoreboard. Things are looking promising as the team continues to build momentum going forward.
