Bro, Muhammad was pure anti-black racist. He's not someone you should follow.

Khalil Al Saber (0:04)

Do you understand the statement that the religion is perfect and not the man?

SPEAKER_1 (0:08)

Do you know Muhammad says the devil looks like a black man? So you believe Jesus was a Muslim?

Khalil Al Saber (0:12)

What's the definition of a Muslim to you?

SPEAKER_1 (0:14)

Jesus is actually greater than Muhammad, and he's the real final prophet. Did you know that?

Sean Kelly (0:25)

All right, guys, a little pre-debate today. While Junior's doing his one on ten, I figured I'd get these two together. We got Vocab, who's debating, and Khalil Al Saber, who is going to be Junior's fill-in, because Junior sometimes doesn't show up, but it's all good.

Khalil Al Saber (0:38)

He'd be running from fates.

Sean Kelly (0:40)

He's just busy, man. I don't know what the deal is, but good to see you all. We got a couple of fun topics, and I'll let you to take it away from here.

SPEAKER_1 (0:47)

So you believe Jesus was a Muslim?

Khalil Al Saber (0:49)

I mean, what's the definition of a Muslim to you? I think you'll understand that.

SPEAKER_1 (0:55)

God observed those five pillars, so I think that's foundational to what Islam is, and the articles of faith as well.

Khalil Al Saber (1:01)

Okay, so let's go. Shahada.

He believed that there's no god worthy of worship.

SPEAKER_1 (1:06)

And he said Muhammad is the final messenger?

Khalil Al Saber (1:08)

No. There's a Christian shahada behind that.

SPEAKER_1 (1:10)

So he didn't take the shahada, then?

Khalil Al Saber (1:12)

Well, by definition, he's a Muslim.

SPEAKER_1 (1:15)

Can you be a Muslim without taking the shahada?

Khalil Al Saber (1:18)

Yes, by definition.

SPEAKER_1 (1:20)

So, it does not require taking the shahada with witnesses present to be a Muslim.

Khalil Al Saber (1:25)

Well, when you say Jesus took a shahada, then he declared that there was no god but the god he worshiped. Abrahamic faith.

SPEAKER_1 (1:34)

That's only half the shahada, because you're Sunni, right? The Shia take a shahada, but they add stuff you wouldn't agree with in their shahada, right?

Khalil Al Saber (1:43)

I don't know the Sunni shahada. I meant the Shiite shahada.

SPEAKER_1 (1:46)

They add about the succession of Ali. Okay, so you would disagree with their shahada.

Khalil Al Saber (1:51)

I wouldn't include that in my shahada.

SPEAKER_1 (1:54)

Right. So Jesus' shahada, what verse would it be in, and where did he mention there's a final prophet after him?

Khalil Al Saber (2:00)

He said there will be one after me, correct?

SPEAKER_1 (2:03)

No.

Khalil Al Saber (2:03)

Jesus never said there will be one.

SPEAKER_1 (2:04)

He said another comforter like me, but he didn't say there's going to be a final prophet after him. Actually, the Bible in Hebrews 1 tells you that's not right.

Khalil Al Saber (2:11)

Oh, fact-checked it? Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_1 (2:13)

What verse would you say, Jesus?

Khalil Al Saber (2:15)

It's not in the Koran.

I've never been Christian, to be honest. So, this debate, the fact that I understand what it means to be a Muslim. And then also, Islam wasn't created during Jesus' time. Great point!

SPEAKER_1 (2:33)

So, you can't be a Muslim if there's no Islam, right?

Khalil Al Saber (2:35)

No, you can be a Muslim, like I said, by definition. So, it works in that fashion.

SPEAKER_1 (2:41)

So, as long as you submit to God, one God, you're a Muslim?

Khalil Al Saber (2:44)

Yes.

SPEAKER_1 (2:44)

Okay, so the Jews are Muslims.

Khalil Al Saber (2:48)

What is a Jew? By standard, is it a religion or is it a culture?

SPEAKER_1 (2:52)

Let's say people who practice Judaism, they're Muslims, right?

Khalil Al Saber (2:56)

Judaism? Judaism, isn't that called Judaism?

SPEAKER_1 (3:01)

You can pronounce it either way, but people who practice Judaism are Muslims because they submit to one God, right?

Khalil Al Saber (3:05)

One God, yes.

SPEAKER_1 (3:06)

So, Jews are Muslims?

Khalil Al Saber (3:10)

Not Jews. Remember, Jews are like a second people.

SPEAKER_1 (3:14)

People who practice Judaism are Muslims, you're saying.

Khalil Al Saber (3:16)

Those are not necessarily Jews, though.

SPEAKER_1 (3:18)

I'm not talking about ethnicity. I'm saying people who practice Judaism, they're Muslims according to your definition.

Khalil Al Saber (3:23)

Do they worship one God?

SPEAKER_1 (3:25)

Yes, that's the essence of Judaism.

Khalil Al Saber (3:26)

Do they associate partners with their God?

SPEAKER_1 (3:28)

They would say no, that's why they don't like Christians.

Khalil Al Saber (3:31)

So, they would be considered Muslims by definition.
