The US. House passed a bill banning Congress members from trading individual stocks. The STOP Insider Trading Act would prohibit members of Congress, their spouses and their dependent children from buying new stocks. But it would allow lawmakers to keep stocks they already own. The bill also includes a provision requiring voters to provide ID to vote. Republicans combined the stock ban bill with a voter ID provision, requiring voters to show physical photo ID and absentee or mail-in voters to attach a photocopy of their ID.
Democrats calling the bill a sham. One administration committee Democrat saying the provision has nothing to do with stock trading.

It's The Drew Mariani Show on Relevant Radio. Yeah, ban on stock trading. That was Local 5, Iowa on the US House bill that would ban Congress from trading individual stocks. Good afternoon. I'm Drew Mariani. That's a big story. You take a look at how much money certain members of Congress have made. You go in there making a certain amount of money and you come out a multimillionaire. It's pretty amazing. Yesterday, the House passed two major Republican efforts that got rolled into one bill. The first was the Stop Insider Trading Act, meant to stop members of Congress from profiling.
Well, really benefiting is a better way of putting it from the stock market based on insider knowledge. And it also included parts of the Save America Act. But the act's banned.
What it does, it prevents sitting members of Congress and their immediate family members from purchasing individual stocks from publicly traded companies. To me, it always made sense. You're in the know. You know what kind of legislation is going to be passed, what's not. You know what's being debated. There's been a lot of very peculiar moves that have taken place where members of Congress have gotten out of their stock positions. And a week later, things changed pretty radically. So if they want to sell their shares, the bill requires that they have to file a public notice between 7 to 14 days before, before the sale. There are people who follow these Congress people. There's a whole, I think, website dedicated to following Nancy Pelosi and her trades. It's actually her husband who makes the trades, but he's made a ton of money. The act also requires voters to show valid identification when they vote. We talked about that yesterday. Some critics claim that still not strong enough, and it's not going to go anywhere in the Senate. So we'll see how that all shakes out. Hey, I want to hit on a couple of things today. Dr. Craycraft is going to be stopping by. You know, he's one of my favorites. I love having him here because there's a lot of developments internationally in the war. We've talked a lot about the ethics behind warfare in the past. First, let me bring you up to speed on the expanding front on the war with Iran. Houthi rebels in Yemen now have effectively closed off the Red Sea to shipping. And they basically attacked two Saudi oil tankers. And that has led from, you know, both it's led to the president also to issue some more warnings.
I want to share with you a quick little news clip here.
You know, the Iranian, by the way, they're Iranian-backed, they're terrorist proxy, if you will. And I'm glad, you know, the president has warned, look, you fire on anything in the Gulf of Hormuz and you're gonna lose a bridge or you're gonna lose a power plan. I think the same thing should go for their proxies. CNN has a little bit more. Here's more on what the Houthi's capacity is. And this is retired General James Marks.

**James Marks** (3:37)
What this tells you is that they've been hunkering down, they have capacity and they are now gonna reach up and turn up the heat, obviously. The concern truly is, do they have the capacity to do that? Can the Houthi's close the Bab al-Mandeb? Well, they've done it in the past, but it's been opened again because of the efforts of the United States, not with a lot of help from other allied partners, but there's an incentive for the Saudis certainly to be involved because they, the Saudis, have created a pipeline infrastructure, as you know, from the Gulf over to the Red Sea. This is the oil that's being pumped out.
So that attempt to create an alternative and some resiliency and redundancy is now going to be threatened pretty significantly. So the US has a presence, the Saudis have a capability. What is going to be done that's going to detract from epic fury?
