Welcome to the Todd Starnes Radio Show, and great to have you with us today. Wow.
So, can we talk about last week for just a moment here? Very rarely do I get sick. I mean, like, really, really bad where, you know, even if I'm running a fever, I'll get behind the microphone, and we'll do the show. That is the worst thing in the world is for me to miss the three hours of conversation with you, Monday through Friday, here on this program. And I don't know what it was. I have a theory about what happened last week, but, you know, we launched the book last week, and Tuesday, I could feel something was not right. And I am telling you, when I was in the bed sick, I have never been that ill in all my life, and it affected my voice more so than anything else. Had a big fever, and the voice couldn't talk, and I'm one of these guys where...
Well, look, you folks are used to the docile tones of Todd Starnes, and you don't want to hear some gravelly guy for three hours, right? Nobody wants to hear that. So, anyway, had to take a few sick days last week to get over it, which was the worst possible time, especially when you're doing a book launch. So, all that to say, it is great to be back with you, and we're going to reset and relaunch the book this week. So you missed all the fun. So we did the, and this is my theory. I think I was infected by the GOGs, the gals of GERD.

Oh, absolutely, you were. Yeah.

So third, or was it Tuesday, we had the big signing event at the Barnes and Noble in Memphis. And these are a lot of fun. And I take questions. I give a little bit of a speech. We, and this one was especially important because we had Senator Marshall Blackburn there. And we also had Congressman David Custof. So we had some highfalutin folks there. And I was, we were doing our thing, and a huge crowd, and the Barnes and Noble people were very kind.
Dylan, they put us up, they put us over the periodical section. Oh, nice. They, and there were, it was, it was packed, a staining room only. And we just had a wonderful crowd there. The local Turning Point USA folks showed up, and it was just a blast.
But I started getting these text messages. There were people outside, these large women, morbidly obese women, and they were outside in the heat, and they were holding these signs, and they were protesting and picketing, my book signing. I never seen anything like this before. And they were screaming and carrying on all sorts of... Well, anyway, in the middle of the book signing, they stormed the Barnes and Noble.
And I don't know, there were at least, I would have to say about a dozen of them, I think. Some of them were so large, it's sort of like it may have been more, it may have been less, I don't know. But they represented at least one of them, could have been three people.
So anyway, and I wrote about, the irony of all of this is I wrote about the gals of girth in my book. I've got a whole chapter. Remember that, Dylan, we did the episode.
