In this episode, we'll hear about a new development in the 1982 Tylenol Poisonings mystery. But first, we have quick true crime updates from across the nation. Today we're starting in Queens, New York. With a Thursday, September 24th report from Audacy station, 1010 Wins.

I had a shooting outside a club on Steinway in Queens now, leaving one man dead. But the sad thing about it, people who live in the neighborhood where it happened basically shrug their shoulders and say, we're not surprised.
Shanice Archer (0:45)
A man who lives just a few feet away says he's gotten used to hearing about crime like this in the area.
SPEAKER_4 (0:50)
Stuff happens there.
Shanice Archer (0:51)
Another man who lives about a block away says he wasn't surprised either.
SPEAKER_5 (0:55)
Honestly, it's happened in the past. It's like this do happen pretty often around here.
Shanice Archer (0:59)
And this is a busy stretch of Astoria. Stores are open, people are coming and going, while caution tape is still up and officers remain on scene.
SPEAKER_5 (1:06)
I'm trying to go to the coffee shop, which is literally like maybe 20 feet away. And because of the closing of the street, you can't even get a cup of coffee.
Shanice Archer (1:13)
Police say the man was shot in the back during an attempted robbery. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he later died. The person police are looking for took off in a white Mercedes Benz SUV. Shanice Archer, 1010 Wins, or 923FM in Astoria.

Next, we have an update on a woman who is facing criminal charges for allegedly driving her SUV into a bus in California. A news chopper that was covering the incident crashed, killing two on board and another person on the ground.
Here's Audacy Station KNX News in Los Angeles reporting on the case Monday, September 21st.
SPEAKER_6 (1:51)
The Simi Valley woman accused of driving under the influence and slamming her SUV into a metro bus, killing two of the passengers, was supposed to appear in court this morning. That, however, got pushed back yet again. Our John Baird was at the courthouse.
John Baird (2:04)
36-year-old Bailey Rios is accused of murder and driving under the influence. Authorities say she was driving on the wrong side of the road and ran a red light when she broadsided the metro bus in Chatsworth, killing two passengers on board. She was brought by ambulance to court Friday, but her attorneys basically argued that she really wasn't in a position to be in court because of her own injuries from the crash. Outside the courthouse, relatives of one of the victims, Daniel Castile, were upset that she didn't appear in court, saying it wasn't fair to some of the family members who had to travel here for the hearing.
SPEAKER_8 (2:40)
They're devastated.
SPEAKER_9 (2:44)
They need help, too. They have a GoFundMe out.
SPEAKER_6 (2:47)
They really need help, because they're from out of state.
Donna Ganger (2:49)
They have to be coming back and forth.
SPEAKER_6 (2:50)
They don't live here. Him and his fiancee were here by themselves. So if anyone can help them, they really need help.
John Baird (2:58)
Meantime, the DA says Bailey Rios could face life in prison if convicted. For now, she's being held in jail. Her bail set at $4 million.
In San Fernando, I'm John Baird, KNX News.
Lauren Barry (3:11)
KNX followed up on the case on Thursday, September 24th.
SPEAKER_12 (3:15)
The woman accused of driving her SUV threw a red light right into a metro bus, killing two people. Face to judge to face those murder charges today, and John Baird was there.
John Baird (3:25)
36-year-old Bailey Rios was brought to the San Fernando Courthouse in an ambulance and finally made her first appearance. It had been postponed several times. Remember, after her SUV allegedly crashed into the metro bus, they had to cut her out of the vehicle, and she was taken to the hospital for treatment of her own injuries. She was rolled into court on a stretcher, she was sitting up and flanked by a couple of deputies while being kept in a secure area to the side of the courtroom. You could see what appeared to be bruising under her eyes, black lines under her eyes, but when the judge asked her a couple of questions, she answered yes in a loud and strong voice. Her public defender entered not guiltily during the brief proceedings. She'll be back in court on November 2nd to set a date for a preliminary hearing. Her bail remains at $4.1 million.
