Mike Tyson Talks Partnership with Sugar Factory for New High Protein Foods

We want to stay in the business of sports right now because former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, he made a lot of money in the ring, but he's finding some creative ways to make a lot of money outside of the ring. And it's now from the grocery aisle. He's teamed up with Sugar Factory on high protein sliders that, well, are gonna be sold in grocery stores and you can eat at home. I had a chance to catch up with the champ just a little while ago to talk about his new partnership.

I think he's the closest friend of mine. I've known him over 30 years. And he was discussing why we never did business before. And it was his idea and he discussed with me these rainbow sliders. I thought it was a no brainer.

**Romaine Bostick** (0:48)
You go down the grocery aisle, the freezer aisle, there's just so much to choose from. Why do I stop and buy up the Sugar Factory home sliders?

**Mike Tyson** (0:56)
Most of these sliders have seed oil. You know, they have, the grams is just overabundance and it's not healthy for people.
And Robert Kennedy Jr named me one of the people that's responsible for keeping America healthy.

Oh, so you're working with the Health and Human Services Secretary on this?

**Mike Tyson** (1:16)
Yes, yes.

**Romaine Bostick** (1:17)
Oh, okay.

**Mike Tyson** (1:17)
So what are you- Robert Kennedy.

**Romaine Bostick** (1:19)
Okay, so what are you doing? You're just going around the country, like talking to people about how to be healthy or how to work out?

**Mike Tyson** (1:25)
Well, absolutely. Not necessarily working out, but eating a proper meal.

**Romaine Bostick** (1:30)
Yeah. What has your diet been like over the years? I mean, obviously, I know when you were fighting, there were a lot of rumors just about how strict you were with your diet.

**Mike Tyson** (1:38)
I was when I first started because I was insane. That's why. But you know, in the beginning, I would not eat no food. I was fast and all that stuff. But as I got older, I learned to, I'm counting bad calories. I'm just taking better care of myself.
I drink more water. I can stay busy. I'm running or walking. I'm always in the gym.

**Romaine Bostick** (2:04)
Yeah. Well, I mean, you still look like you're in good shape. I mean, you just turned 60, which is hard to believe. I mean, you look barely 40
Is that what? Is that a test?

**Mike Tyson** (2:13)
Hey, how much do you want me to pay you?

**Romaine Bostick** (2:16)
You could pay me in sliders.
But I mean, no, you look great. And I mean, I do wonder, too. I mean, you talk about eating healthy. And obviously, you know, as you get older, we all get older, you start to pay a lot more attention to your health and just sort of what you eat here. So the products that you're aligning yourself with and what you're doing with the US government now, is that all sort of part of this whole push by you?

**Mike Tyson** (2:41)
Absolutely, 100%. The government's behind me, the president's behind me, and this is a real dream of mine that makes America healthy again.

**Romaine Bostick** (2:50)
So, speaking of your health, I do have to ask you, you were supposed to do an exhibition with Floyd Mayweather some while back and I know you hurt your hand. I mean, how's your hand doing?

**Mike Tyson** (3:02)
My hand is doing great now.

**Romaine Bostick** (3:03)
Yeah.

**Mike Tyson** (3:03)
I believe it's still, listen, I believe it's still on. I'm looking forward to it.

**Romaine Bostick** (3:08)
Okay.

**Mike Tyson** (3:10)
I saw Paul, I saw the champ the other day. He looked good. Yeah, I'm sure he's ready.

**Romaine Bostick** (3:15)
Did he look as good as you?

**Mike Tyson** (3:17)
Well, I don't think so, but he did look good. That's hard.
