Meta's Muse Just Changed the Al Trade — Here's What We're Buying

Meta's Muse went viral over the weekend, and on Monday, Wall Street woke up. Meta jumped 11% in a single day, nearly $200 billion in market cap, because of a chatbot with a plush toy mascot. Three firms jacked their price targets this week. But the stock's already moved. The easy money is gone.

There is a new AI app that is taking over the Internet. It is cute, it is fluffy, it has a mascot that looks like a plush toy, and on Monday, it stepped onto Wall Street with Meta, one of the biggest companies on the planet, jumping 11% in one day, almost $200 billion because of a chat bot. It's called Muse. I spent the weekend messing around with it, and I'm not going to lie, it kind of blew my mind. So on Monday morning, I did something I almost never do. I bought Meta stock at the open, and Wall Street, they're still chasing it. Three firms jacked their price targets this week. Canterford's Gerald went to 860 this morning. But here's the thing, everybody knows that trade. The stock's already moved, the easiest money is probably already made. The real question, the one that probably no one's asking is, who gets paid when millions of people start talking to this thing every day? Because those conversations burn serious compute, and a whole lot of it happens to be happening on somebody else's computer. Also tonight, by the way, literally tonight, Zuckerberg is taking the stage at Meta Connect, and whatever he talks about, whatever he announces, could be another catalyst or could signal the top. Today on Dumb Money, Meta's muse just changed the AI trade. Here's what we're buying.
Hey there, Dave here along with Chris and Jordan. We are Dumb Money. Welcome to Dumb Money Live. Take a second if you will.
Tell your muse to smash the like button. And Chris, you should probably just do it by voice. I can, he's driving right now. So this is the links we go to, to bring you to this show.
Chris (1:44)
Are you, you have not pulled over.
Dave (1:46)
You're actually on the road right now.
Chris (1:48)
I can't pull over. I'm in traffic on the highway. I will pull over in a minute when I can.
Jordan (1:55)
Don't you go dying on me. Don't you go dying on me.
Dave (1:58)
Be safe.
Meanwhile, everybody, everybody's talking about what their muse has done for them. Mine has been hard at work. It did the show prep for me today. It's watching my flight tomorrow. It debugged problems I was having with my calendar and Apple TVs. It is currently eavesdropping on the HOA here in Mexico's group chat so that I don't have to be in that group. That's the last place I want to be. And yesterday, it caught six credit card charges from a restaurant that I've only been to one time. I've actually given Zuckerberg more of my data in the past five days than I have five years on Facebook.
Jordan (2:34)
Yeah, okay, this is interesting, right? Because when you sign up for Muse, it's like, it's not hiding it, dude. It wants your info. It's like, sign in to your Gmail, sign in to this, sign in to that, and I'm like, I can help you more if I have more of those. It's a no for me dog.
Dave (2:48)
So my entire first conversation with Muse was all about privacy. Like, what are you going to do with this? And it explained to me, well, we've got this private virtual machine and it doesn't have access. I will, you're going to sell my data, right? Oh, no, no, here's the privacy policy. And I said, oh, I'm not going to read that. Well, here, I'll summarize it for you. It was like all about privacy. And then because that was my first conversation with it, it started putting the brakes on and it was like, well, I know you're really concerned about privacy.
So I'm not going to ask you for your Gmail. I'm like, well, I don't want you to like limit the functionality because I want to try this thing. And my Gmail is my junk mail. So go ahead. Here's my Gmail.
Chris (3:29)
Dude, Dave, it is the craze. I have never seen, other than ChatGPT itself, when it first came out, this is the biggest moment for normies. I am hearing about normies all over the place using agentic AI through Muse and bragging and just talking idly about all the things it's doing for them. I've never been able to make it through any of my DMs on any of my clip accounts. There's so much spam, there's just so much chaos that sometimes I miss really important messages for a podcast appearance or something by weeks or even a month.
And so I have Muse going through all of those and identifying anything that's potentially high value, whether it's a media opportunity or a podcast or that has a legitimate following, that I should review the opportunity. It does it every 15 minutes. It goes through all that stuff.
