Just when you thought I forgot about it, we are doing Meet the Nation Monday again. It's Monday, and this is where we call somebody that listens to the podcast for whatever reason, and talk to them about themselves, just to get to know them a little bit better. Badger 100 is coming up. A lot of you are coming in town for the Badger. You might hear me talk to somebody, and you might remember them, and they may become your new running friend. So we do this. If you want to do one of these, email me at tenjunkmiles.gmail.com. If you've already emailed me, you're on the list. I got about 10 people on the list. When I'm done with the people, I'm going to take a break until we get new people. So if you're hearing this and you have not done a Meet the Nation episode, it's time, okay? Get your name on the list. You're going to get a couple of months before it happens. I think you're really going to have a nice time. So here we're going to go. We're going to call Julie Hennes.
I think this is the right way to sign that. She was on the infamous drunk show with all the drunk people. She was the sober one in the drunk show. It's kind of interesting. But yeah, she was on that shit show.
I feel like I need to interrupt her a lot. Sign up for the races. Races are open. You don't get, you're not guaranteed swag anymore, but you still sign up. You probably still get all the swag anyway.
You know, we say that and then almost everybody always gets it.

**Julie Hennes** (1:23)
Hello?

**SPEAKER_1** (1:23)
Hello? Hi, how are you?

**Julie Hennes** (1:27)
This is.

**SPEAKER_1** (1:28)
How are you?

**Julie Hennes** (1:29)
I'm great.

**SPEAKER_1** (1:30)
Yeah, you having a good Sunday?

**Julie Hennes** (1:33)
I am.

**SPEAKER_1** (1:33)
How many miles you run today?

**Julie Hennes** (1:37)
Well, I did a 50K training run last night at nine. Oh, nine p.m. So, and it, yeah, and it ran through this morning. So I'm running off two hours of sleep, a full day of yard work and yeah, here I am. Wonderful Sunday.

**SPEAKER_1** (1:50)
Well, you sound like you're in it though. You don't sound like you're dying.

**Julie Hennes** (1:54)
Oh, no, I'm not dying at all.

**SPEAKER_1** (1:56)
When this is over, are you going to bed?

**Julie Hennes** (1:59)
I think so. No, I gotta do my recovery, my 45-ish minutes of foam rolling, massage gun, all that good stuff, and then I will.

**SPEAKER_1** (2:06)
Okay, and you're training for the Badger 100?

**Julie Hennes** (2:10)
I am.

**SPEAKER_1** (2:11)
For the kids at home. And you were kind of peer pressured into it during that drunk show.

**Julie Hennes** (2:16)
Yeah, for sure. It started out the 50-mile, then I changed it to the 100K, because I didn't realize the 50 was on Sunday. So I changed it to the 50K and then, yeah, so here I am with the 100, so.

**SPEAKER_1** (2:28)
I mean, we contemplated giving an award out for someone that did all the events, but I didn't know if we ever considered getting someone an award that signed up for all of the events and then ended up just doing one. So you may have a special record on your hands, your clothes.
All right, so where am I calling? Where do you live?

**Julie Hennes** (2:46)
I'm in Cacana. So for anyone that's never heard of that, I'm about 20-ish minutes south of Green Bay and everyone's heard of Green Bay.

**SPEAKER_1** (2:54)
And how do I pronounce your last name?

**Julie Hennes** (2:57)
Hennes.

**SPEAKER_1** (2:57)
Okay, I got it right. That's right, Hennes.

**Julie Hennes** (2:59)
Yeah, good job.

**SPEAKER_1** (3:01)
All right. And what do you do up there in Cacana? Do you work at the cheese place? Because I know the cheese.

**Julie Hennes** (3:09)
The cheese is great, actually. No, I work for a company called Imperial Supplies or Granger Own Company.

**SPEAKER_1** (3:16)
And what do you do?

**Julie Hennes** (3:17)
I have a cushy computer job. I'm a purchasing supervisor. So I get to boss people around and it's great. I've been there 11 years. So I clearly love it.

**SPEAKER_1** (3:27)
Very nice.
All right. And tell me your running story, your little, give me a, you know, now I know you have a good story. Like we should sometimes sit down and do like the whole, because I got a lot of questions for you too. But, but let's just do like the general, you know, like, who are you and what was your journey into? How did you find yourself, you know, eventually signing up for the Badger 100 after the 50K, the half marathon, the marathon and the 100K?
