Like it possibly, you're wrong.
Joel Duscher (0:08)
Hey, we're on tour.
SPEAKER_2 (0:10)
So there is no theme.
Joel Duscher (0:11)
It was this or a break. Timber.
SPEAKER_2 (0:14)
You're listening to Thumb Cramps. A show for those whose thumbs are cramping.
Joel Duscher (0:24)
What's up, gamers?
Jackson B. Baly (0:25)
And welcome to this week's episode of Thumb Cramps, a video game review podcast for everyone whose thumbs are cramping.
Joel Duscher (0:32)
And as was the situation with last week, Jackson's not here. You've just got me, Joel, and two beautiful friends joining me.
Jackson B. Baly (0:42)
It is Steph Panecasio.
Steph Panecasio (0:44)
Woo, hello.
Joel Duscher (0:46)
It's so good to have you back, Steph.
Steph Panecasio (0:48)
Oh, stop it.
Joel Duscher (0:50)
Do you know what else is really good? Having a first time guest join the podcast. Holy shit.
Steph Panecasio (0:55)
Who's that?
Joel Duscher (0:55)
Well, actually Violet from Good Games Morley.
Jackson B. Baly (0:58)
It's you, Violet from Good Games Morley.
Joel Duscher (1:00)
What? And you also got to experience something really, truly beautiful that every guest gets here with Thumb Cramps, which is I have a normal conversation with you just before we start the podcast. And then I do that intro, which is 500 times more insane than how I'm usually talking.
Jackson B. Baly (1:20)
Sorry to wreck the illusion.
Violet Wilkin (1:21)
Has anyone ever told you it's too much?
Joel Duscher (1:23)
Yeah, the whole podcast is too much, Violet.
Jackson B. Baly (1:25)
Welcome to the show.
Violet Wilkin (1:26)
Okay, all right.
Steph Panecasio (1:27)
It's just a beautiful cognitive dissonance. And I recognize that I'm starting off with big words and it's going to devolve from here. That's a promise.
Joel Duscher (1:34)
Yeah, that's okay. Well, just quick update from last week, just before we get to the video game thing. Last week, I was really jet lagged.
Ruby had her period and Chloe was sick with maybe food poisoning.
Jackson B. Baly (1:48)
This week-
Steph Panecasio (1:48)
I believe she said whole shitting herself.
SPEAKER_11 (1:50)
So let's call a spade a spade.
Joel Duscher (1:52)
Yeah.
Jackson B. Baly (1:52)
Hey, hey.
Violet Wilkin (1:53)
Hey, hey.
Joel Duscher (1:55)
That's just where we're at. This week, you'd think one week later that my jet lag would be fixed, but instead I lent too hard into it and now I maybe have insomnia and my mental health is terrible, which is good for video games.
Jackson B. Baly (2:08)
Yay.
SPEAKER_7 (2:09)
I'm relatable to gamers now.
Jackson B. Baly (2:11)
Yeah.
Violet Wilkin (2:11)
Okay.
Jackson B. Baly (2:13)
I'm sick.
SPEAKER_5 (2:15)
I'm unwell.
Violet Wilkin (2:16)
As are most gamers. I have a problem.
SPEAKER_1 (2:20)
Yeah.
Joel Duscher (2:20)
So gamers around the world that are hearing this right now, just know that if you're struggling, same brother.
SPEAKER_1 (2:26)
Hey, just know that if you're struggling, Dusch has been there, done that, a la Pitbull.
Jackson B. Baly (2:30)
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Joel Duscher (2:32)
I'm kind of like Mr. Worldwide, but of mental illness. Absolutely.
Violet Wilkin (2:36)
That's what I'm always saying.
SPEAKER_5 (2:38)
Yeah.
Jackson B. Baly (2:38)
Yeah.
Steph Panecasio (2:38)
I'm hearing it more and more.
Joel Duscher (2:40)
And speaking of things I'm hearing more and more, it's time to look at this week's games, where we're looking at Marvel's Wolverine and Other Games.
So this is a game that has been all over the news, which is always a great start and something that everyone wants when they release their video game. And yeah, so basically if you're unaware, Wolverine came out on the PS5. It was a game that was made by the people that made Spider-Man, Insomniac Games. The famous company made lots and lots of games and everyone was like, this rocks.
Violet Wilkin (3:26)
Did you choose it because you feel a kinship with the name?
Joel Duscher (3:32)
No, I didn't even put two and two together there. And that's a good example of where my brain's at right now.
Jackson B. Baly (3:38)
You got to see me be like, what the hell is she saying? Yeah.
Joel Duscher (3:42)
Yeah.
Jackson B. Baly (3:42)
Yeah.
Joel Duscher (3:43)
It was good stuff.
Steph Panecasio (3:43)
I saw that in real time and it was beautiful.
Joel Duscher (3:46)
No, I picked this game to play because I thought, hey, there's a lot of controversy surrounding it, but I've playing it one week later, which is often enough time for the entire new cycle to fall off and everything to cool down. And I was like, now gamers get to hear an unbiased take, which is what people are here on Thumb Cramps for. They go, damn, I really hope I get an honest review.
