Today is October 4th. Welcome in. This is New York Rangers News Today, where your team meets AI. I'm Corey with the story.

All right, big matchup on the horizon as the Utah Mammoth head to New York to take on the Rangers this Sunday at 6 PM EDT. The Mammoth are riding high after Nick Schmaltz scored two goals in their impressive 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. They're looking to keep that momentum going. On the flip side, the Rangers are coming off a season where they struggled at home, finishing with a record of 14 wins, 20 losses, and 7 ties in their own arena. That makes this game even more crucial for them. They'll need to step up, you know?

Utah had a solid overall record last season with 43 wins, 33 losses, and 6 ties. They also did well on the road, grabbing 22 wins. Their powerplay stats are something to watch. They averaged 2.8 chances per game and converted nearly 20% of those, which is solid.

Got to keep that advantage.

Injury News is shaking things up for both teams. The Rangers will be missing Junas Corpusalo and Adam Sikora, both out with lower body injuries. On Utah side, they have Maverick Lamoro out with a shoulder injury. That definitely affects team dynamics. So, this one shaping up to be an interesting clash. Both teams will want to establish their game early and set the tone. Looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.
