Chase locked my account, and more coming up right now on MTM Travel.

And how I don't have a soccer field that has any lines painted on it, but I'm supposed to coach a game tonight.

So, happy Thursday, everyone. This is an insane show coming up for you guys, if we can make it through. We've been having some technical difficulties, but it is a fun day, and I have a great Chase story to tell.
Mark Ostermann (0:27)
I don't know if I'd call it a fun day. It's been a pretty frustrating day. You know, one of those days where you wake up and you just know everything that can go wrong will go wrong. That's kind of what's been happening today, and it looks like it's going to be in my foreseeable future, and the Lions play tonight, so that's probably going to be bad.
So, we'll see how this all goes down. But let's hear this Chase. I have no clue what this Chase story is about.
Shawn Coomer (0:47)
Well, it turned out okay, and not as big as it seems. So, I was actually going to Chase the other day to try to withdraw money. I don't carry my ATM card around, and I rarely take money out, but I had to go in and get some money. So, I don't have...
A lot of people have spreadsheets with their credit card numbers and everything else. I do have that. But I don't have it with my bank account numbers. I just don't like having my bank account numbers out there. I don't know. So, I don't know my bank account numbers off the top of my head.
Mark Ostermann (1:13)
That's like kind of reverse.
I never understand. People get obsessed about their bank account numbers, but it's on every freaking check. Like you rip off a check, you drop on the ground, your bank account number is displayed out there for all. And I know that there's better security on credit cards, or you can do chargebacks and all that. But it's just so funny that people are freely writing checks for decades. But yet they're like, I don't like my bank account number out there.
Shawn Coomer (1:38)
Well, it's never been like a conscious thing. I just never did it. My point is I'm a hypocrite because I've done it for credit cards. But when, so back, so I going into Chase and I would pull up the app and get the account number from the app. So I go to pull up the app and I'm logging into Chase all the time. So I know that this, I've never had an issue and it says your account has been locked due to suspicious activity. And I'm at the bank and it says call this number to fix it. And I don't know about you guys, but when you go into a Chase bank, I often don't get resolution. So I'm like, should I talk to the banker here or should I just try to call really quick to get this fixed? So I go out to the parking lot and I call and then I get to the automated system and it's just giving me hard time. I'm trying to reach an agent. First off, if your account is locked and they give you a phone number, shouldn't that be a direct number to the department you need for fraud? No, it's just a general chase number. So finally, I put my social security number in and now it's asking for my account number or my debit card number or my username and I keep putting that in. That's not working. I can't get to anybody. Ten minutes. I've been doing this a long time. I could not get a human on the phone. So then I walked inside and I talked to the banker and then he called some super secret number and worked with the guy on the other side to fix it. All it was was a stray business again. So I guess I had two business logins that were linked together and then the link broke.
Because that happened when I tried to log in to the business login, which by the way has all of my information, it's just the login I use for everything, it said suspicious activity. So insane, but shout out to the banker who helped me. I was scared though. I was sitting there. The whole time he was trying to unlock me, I'm like, what activity is this? What did they do?
I had to sit there for a good 40 minutes before he could get it all figured out. Then he didn't even tell me. Then we got into the account.
