My experience on TV actually helped me tremendously. People had been saying nice things and not so nice things about me since I was 17 years old. I really just wasn't that afraid. I was just putting it out there to be consumed. I just worked living with fear because I had been trained to ignore negative commentary about me.

Flash forwarding to today, my guest Lo Bosworth is known for a whole lot more. She is the founder and CEO of Love Wellness, a groundbreaking women's health brand that is 10 years strong.
And she also is the host of the Tell Me I'm a Good Mom show where she gets extremely candid about her life as a first time mom. Please welcome the very busy Lo. How are you?

Very good. Busy, but I don't think as busy as you. Man, 10 years. Congratulations. That's incredible.

Thank you. Quite a milestone. Yeah. I never thought when I launched this business in 2016, 10 years later, we'd have 100,000 PODs.
It blows my mind sometimes.

So take me back to that moment. What made you decide to start the company?

**Lo Bosworth** (2:39)
I was at a crossroads in my life.
I had finished my time on the hills. I had moved to New York City. I was in culinary school and focused on nutrition.
I thought that I belonged in the entertainment industry. I thought that I should be doing a food show, a cooking show because it's one of my deep passions.
Hollywood can be very fickle and people have to choose you and say, yes, it's you. We're green lighting you. I was in talks with food cooking for a while about a show, and then they changed their mind. I was really left picking up the pieces. I was like, oh my gosh, I've dedicated many years of my life to figuring out nutrition and how to cook really healthy food. At the same time, I was very unwell. I was depressed and anxious and had all these women's health issues and it was all happening concurrently. I started to go down the rabbit hole to try to get better and to feel better. It took me 18 months for my first appointment with my primary care doctor at the time for them to run a simple blood panel that showed that I had very severe vitamin deficiencies. In 2016, you're like, vitamin deficiencies? Nobody was talking about that back then. You're like, this is a podcast. We eat food. We're healthy. We're fine.
It turns out that all of my symptoms, or many of them could be tied back to these vitamin deficiencies. I really became acutely aware of this care gap when it comes to women's health and the self-advocacy that has to happen to get the care that you need. I went to the doctor probably six times over the course of 18 months. She didn't think to like, let's dig a little deeper for a year and a half. It was that experience that inspired me to start Love Wellness. I focused on vaginal health as our core competency out of the gate. Our products were really the first of their kind. We have the first fragrance-free intimate cleanser, the first boric acid suppository to ever be at retail. One of the very first vaginal probiotics ever.
