We're excited to announce that we'll be hosting our next Citations Needed Beg-A-Thon. That is a virtual live show fundraiser streaming on our YouTube channel the evening of Wednesday, October 21st. That is very soon.

Yes, it has been over a year since we've come hat in hand begging you for money, so we're doing so again on Wednesday, October 21st. We'll be live streaming at 8 PM Eastern Time, 7 PM Central, so save the date and join us for our show, Ben Shapiro, Sex-Pest Actor Comebacks, and the New Elevated Right-Wing Cinema. We will be talking with Oscar-nominated screenwriter, Josh Olson, about the latest wave of right-wing cinema, particularly that produced by Daily Wire, the media company co-founded by Ben Shapiro, and its upgraded production values, ham-fisted vaguely Christian morality, its rampant Islamophobia, its promotion of Israel, and its cast of Washed Up and Cancelled Actors.

It'll be a great show. We encourage you all to join, but there's also a very important reason why we're doing this, and why we call it a Beg-A-Thon. Tens of thousands of people listen to each episode of Citations Needed, but only a very small percentage of our lovely listeners actually support our work by becoming patrons or supporters of the show. We are 100 percent listener-funded, and that means that this show really keeps going because of the ongoing support of our listeners. As you hear us say all the time, we don't run commercials, we have no ad breaks, we also don't get foundation or nonprofit or corporate sponsorships or grants to keep doing the show.
