If my girl was bringing in 10 bands stripping, go ahead girl, you go ahead, get them lap dances.

Azar Farideh (0:06)

I don't, I don't.

Paul Pierce (0:07)

Get them dances, girl.

Azar Farideh (0:08)

I'm appreciative of the journey I went through, but now let's switch it up.

Paul Pierce (0:13)

I tell you, I really love Durk. Well, I'll fuck with Durk.

His music is cracking. You gotta be strong.

Azar Farideh (0:21)

Yeah, you do.

Paul Pierce (0:21)

You gotta be strong. Hold on, the homie hit me real quick.

Azar Farideh (0:29)

This is crazy.

Paul Pierce (0:30)

Jay Crow, what up? This is Jay Crow, baby. Hey, I'm in the middle of The Truth After Dark. We feeling live right now. What up, Jay Crow? All right, bet. Yeah. All right, that was the homie, Jay Crow. That's my best friend I grew up with since like ninth grade. Okay. That's Jay Crow.

This is the taking over the game.

All right, everybody, welcome to Truth After Dark.

Azar Farideh (1:19)

Do you think that men or women are more toxic?

Welcome back, y'all, we missed y'all per usual. I'm your host, Azar Farideh.

Paul Pierce (1:35)

P2, P squared, AKA The Truth, AKA, you know what it is.

Azar Farideh (1:43)

I love that. Okay, so let's get into, let's just get to it.

Paul Pierce (1:50)

What's been going on?

Azar Farideh (1:51)

What's been going on? Recently, that's kind of like getting the internet in an uproar basically, is that the Lil Durk trial, you know, he has been acquitted of all his charges. Man, there we go.

Paul Pierce (2:02)

And his murder for hire trial. I fuck with Durk.

His music is cracking.

Azar Farideh (2:08)

So what was, you were excited when you saw that he was let off his charges.

Paul Pierce (2:11)

I'm excited when all black people facing the feds get off.

Azar Farideh (2:15)

Exactly, I agree.

Paul Pierce (2:16)

I mean, I know what it is, what it is, and people say what they want to say, but like, man, if he innocent, he innocent. He innocent, right? He got, aren't they innocent?

Azar Farideh (2:25)

It's so funny because someone said, now I know how the older generation felt about OJ getting off.

Paul Pierce (2:31)

Man, we don't know, I mean, you know, it's just like, man, we constantly, our constantly top celebrities is getting, you know, fed charges and it's just like, man, it's like, we always say we can't beat the feds.

And I get it and I understand these are like major charges and nothing is good coming out of this because if somebody is accused of something, it's like, you know, sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire. But like, bro, he didn't do it, period.

Azar Farideh (3:04)

Well, what advice would you give to young people who are involved in like the streets, like the street lifestyle, you know, especially people who have been blessed to make it out like Lil Durk has?

Paul Pierce (3:17)

I mean, I think there's nothing good that comes from being in the streets because me say I grew up around a lot of street niggas and everything.

And I know the end game to it is either dead or in jail. And that's what blood in, blood out. You know what I'm saying? And that's like something I didn't want to, I was pressured into like becoming that. And I was just like, man, I'm not about that. I want to make a life for myself. And I didn't give up hope to make a life. Unfortunately, that sports gave me an outlet. And that's not for all people. Can't be a professional athlete or be 6'7. So, you know, it's about trying to figure out what you can do. And what motivation do you have to get out?

You know what I'm saying? Because we start, you know, the starting line for black people in the neighborhood is not the same starting line for, you know, white people or other races. We start back here.

Azar Farideh (4:18)

Yeah, for sure.

Paul Pierce (4:18)

You know, like, and I tell my kids that like, you know, as far as school come, like, your grades gotta be way better than like other kids, other races, because being black, you gotta have a far superior resume just to get accepted in certain jobs, certain schools, and that's just the way it is. Like, you can't be the same. So if it's like this lady or a man of another race, white, whatever it is, you as a black person have to be better because when they look at the resume, it's unfortunate. It's just, we know that's what it is. It's unspoken and everybody, nobody want to say it, but we know that's what it is. You know what I'm saying? So we got, I tell like, you got to get straight A's. A ain't no B's and all this because if Sally or whoever get A, B, B, B, B, B, and you get straight like A, B, B, B, B, B, they gonna take, accept her.
