My name is Nigel, Jason Hammer is here, please. If you would, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rakita, let's dive right into some legal stuff.
SPEAKER_2 (0:14)
Crime, punishment, judges, legal stuff.
Nigel (0:19)
Legal stuff.
Jason Hammer (0:23)
Other than political nerds, OK? And listen, self deprecating, I think we fall into this category. Yeah. Other than political nerds, does anybody really care that some of these media outlets can't go inside the White House?
Nigel (0:42)
Yeah, they got kicked out of the press pool for being fake news, spreading leftist propaganda.
Jason Hammer (0:49)
Now, I feel like they can still do their jobs.
Jake Tapper can still go on the air and rip on all the things the president's doing. The folks on MSNBC can still go on the air and rip on all the things the president's doing.
Nigel (1:05)
Sure.
Jason Hammer (1:05)
They just can't sit inside the White House and make these press briefings about themselves.
Nigel (1:11)
And there's a big lawsuit. There's going to be a whole to do about it.
Jason Hammer (1:16)
Right.
Nigel (1:17)
And Donald Trump coming out of the UN today, Kaitlin Collins from CNN, he was like, You shouldn't be here. You said you were going to cover it. You weren't even going to be here. But yet she was there.
Jason Hammer (1:29)
Right. People want to make this a big First Amendment issue.
But it feels like the whole book banning thing to me, like the biggest dorks on the planet were saying, Micah Beckwith wants to ban books. Republicans want to ban books. That big fat slob, that old guy that accosted me when I went to go vote was talking about book banning for some reason.
But you can still find the books. They haven't been banned off Amazon. They haven't been banned out of the country. You can still find them.
Nigel (2:04)
Hammer, as far as I know, there's still I don't know if it's still there or not. It's been a couple of years, but there was a woke bookstore in Zionsville Village, and we walked in and I was with my daughter and I didn't know what like it was until I started seeing like abortion this and trans this and you know, when we went back into the graphic novel area, but I'm just saying like they didn't have anything. Like they had a banned books section.
Jason Hammer (2:42)
Because it's good for marketing.
Nigel (2:43)
They had a banned book section in this stupid store by virtue of it being available to buy in the store. It's not banned, right? But you're like you said, it's marketing.
Jason Hammer (2:57)
That's all that it is. And we, you and I, Nigel, we don't go to these press conferences that Hogset does. We don't go to these press conferences that Mears does.
We watch the highlights. We talk about it. It's not that difficult because I got Brad here on the YouTube. They can't ask the president questions in the Oval Office and other organizations can. Oh, no. But Brad, here's the thing.
They can still submit in writing requests to sit down with the president. You know how Trump is. He met with Kim Jong-un. I don't think he's scared of Jake Tapper.
Nigel (3:33)
He's scared of Caitlin.
Jason Hammer (3:34)
He's not scared of Caitlin Collins. They'll probably sit down with them if they want, as long as they give him the attention that he deserves.
But they got tired of all the crap. Now, look, would I have done this? Probably not. You're creating more negative headlines than positive. But let's not act like this is the end of the world and they can't do their jobs all of a sudden.
Nigel (3:55)
It's not as big a deal as the headlines that you're reading.
Jason Hammer (3:58)
Right. I have not been to a press conference of Ryan Mears in years, but I know all about his policies and I know why he sucks. Same thing with Joe Hawkset. So I just don't think other than political nerds like us and clearly Brad in the YouTube chat, you go into any restaurant, you go into any barbershop in Marion County, just kick open the front door. Did you hear? Caitlin Collins can't ask a question.
You think anybody's going to get up and throw a fit and, you know, like slam something down and hate and riot and go break a window? No, it's not going to happen. Like I said, it's nothing that maybe I would have done, but let's not act like it's the end of the world here.
Scott Jennings last night on CNN.
