I know that, mate, because I'm an alumni.

**Nick** (0:17)
Well, you have a science coat on. We both have science coats on right now, actually. We look very intelligent.

**Luttsy** (0:22)
I do. I was in Block B, was where I went to uni there, mate.

**Nick** (0:24)
What did you do?

**Luttsy** (0:25)
I did Bachelor of Arts Journalism, which probably doesn't exist anymore, that degree. I don't know if it does or not.

**Nick** (0:31)
It probably did good.

**Luttsy** (0:32)
The Open Day is on Sunday. As you said, the Kelvin Grave and the Gardens Point campuses. And today we've got Wade and Felicity joining us.

**Wade** (0:41)
How are you going?

**Nick** (0:41)
Some very smart people. Now, Wade, good to have you. Wade, you're the leading associate professor, Felicity, QUT student ambassador and advanced science student in chemistry. Yeah, that's right. It's pretty fun. OK, sounds fun. It sounds very fun. Now, you guys have come in today. Obviously, we're talking about the Open Day, but you've got something cool happening. What have you got? You got a bunch of... I can see... Is that dried ice over there? What is that?

**Wade** (1:01)
What are we making? Because Open Day gets so hot during the day, we thought to... The best way to cool people off during the day is to actually make ice cream. And then we also make... People make their own ice cream as well. So, Luttsy's here, and he's going to have to make his own ice cream.

**Luttsy** (1:18)
I could get around this, because I don't feel like I've ever perfected the ice cream that obviously I just buy from the local store. I know I like strawberry, but sometimes it's not strawberry enough, and sometimes it's not this, that. So, presumably you can play with flavors and everything here, way.

**Wade** (1:32)
Yeah, exactly. Make your own flavor and things like that. And one of the other things that always annoys us, if you leave ice cream in the fridge for too long, you'll probably notice that the crystals grow too big.

**Luttsy** (1:44)
And this way... They do actually. Yes, it actually happens to me.

**Nick** (1:47)
I just call them ice particles, but crystal seems much cooler. So basically, on the open day, you guys are running this. People can go and make ice cream.

**Wade** (1:54)
Exactly right. They can come up, make their own ice cream, have fun doing it, and cool off. Go see some of the wonderful things at Open Day as well.
Do some of the tours and things like that. Go play with some cool science experiments. At Kelvin Grove, we've got the ambulance, for instance, that we can actually go to and play with paramedic equipment.

**Nick** (2:16)
Play with the sirens.

**Wade** (2:17)
Play with the sirens and things like that. The simulation is quite good there.

**Luttsy** (2:21)
All right, let's say we don't need the ambulances today, Felicity, because there's a lot of like stuff that's like, I don't know, tricky scientific stuff here. Am I safe is my first question.

**Nick** (2:29)
Probably.

**Luttsy** (2:30)
Probably.

**Nick** (2:32)
Just don't hold it in your hands or they'll fall off.

**Luttsy** (2:34)
Okay. Oh, don't worry. You don't need hands for this job, mate. I'm wearing a, what are we wearing?

**Wade** (2:38)
Wearing the lab coats.

**Luttsy** (2:39)
The QUT lab coats. I'm not wearing gloves, so it seems like an important.

**Nick** (2:42)
Do we get to keep these lab coats? These are personalized lab coats now?

**Wade** (2:44)
Of course.

**Luttsy** (2:45)
Oh, you don't want to know who will use that. Take this one home later. So I'm going to put this on the clock and see how long it's going to take us to make ice cream as well. So how do we start, Brissy? Get the ball rolling here.

**Nick** (2:57)
Yeah. So what we're going to do is we've got all of our very important ice cream ingredients. We've got our cream, our milk and our sugar. So we're going to put them all into our very scientific mixing container.

**Wade** (3:06)
And this is a part where we're going to actually make Luttsy work for his ice cream.
So he's got a cup here with his ice cream mixture in there. He's got his little stirring rod there to actually stir like anything, like crazy. And now Felicity is going to actually pour in her liquid nitrogen here.
