Okay, our friends, so today I have a question for you, and it is this.

**Philip** (0:08)
Do you have anything in your front yard?

**Philip** (0:11)
Do you have a gnome, maybe?

**Philip** (0:14)
Or flamingos?

**Philip** (0:18)
There's all kinds of different things you can put in your front yard. And this story is about those things, and how they feel like they're part of your family, huh? They move right in.

**Philip** (0:29)
So let's read today's story. It's called Lawn to Lawn. It was written by Dan Iaccarino, and it's read today by Mommy, and who are you? Philip.

**SPEAKER_6** (0:46)
Mommy and Philip, here we go.

**Lisa Bueno** (0:51)
All right, when we open the book, we can see the pictures show us that there is a beautiful home and it has some things in front of it, doesn't it?

**SPEAKER_8** (1:02)
I can't wait to move to our new home, said Pearl.
Betty, Flo, Norm, and Jack weren't so sure. They'd never even left the lawn before, but they all loved Pearl, and where she went, they wanted to go too.

**SPEAKER_6** (1:24)
Moving day came.

**Lisa Bueno** (1:26)
Pearl's parents had packed up everything in the house, but in the confusion, they left a few things behind.

**SPEAKER_9** (1:38)
I may be wrong, said Norm, but I think they forgot us.

**SPEAKER_10** (1:47)
What'll we do?

**SPEAKER_11** (1:49)
squawked Flo.

**Lisa Bueno** (1:51)
If we stay here, said Betty, the new owners may store us in the garage, or worse, the curb, they all said.

**SPEAKER_12** (2:05)
And once the trash truck takes a lawn ornament, declared Jack, it never comes back.

**Lisa Bueno** (2:15)
We can see Jack is maybe like a jockey or something, a lawn jockey. And Betty, I think, is a deer, and Flo is a pink flamingo, a norm, I think, is...

**Philip** (2:35)
A gnome, yeah.

**SPEAKER_12** (2:37)
We have to find Pearl, said Jack. Let's go.

**SPEAKER_8** (2:42)
Hey, a map, said Betty.

**SPEAKER_11** (2:46)
It looks like Pearl's moving places called Ritzy Estates.

**SPEAKER_13** (2:51)
It looks far.

**SPEAKER_8** (2:53)
Flo didn't know what she was more afraid of, leaving the lawn or being left behind. Well, said norm, have a good trip.

**SPEAKER_12** (3:07)
See you when you get back.

**Philip** (3:09)
They reminded him that he was coming with them.

**Philip** (3:13)
Looks like he had almost forgotten.

**Lisa Bueno** (3:15)
The ornaments set off following the map, but they hadn't gotten very far when they heard a familiar rumble and hoot, trash track honked Flo.

**Philip** (3:29)
They all froze.

**SPEAKER_11** (3:30)
Only Pearl knew that they were real.

**SPEAKER_12** (3:35)
They'd have to be careful.

**Philip** (3:36)
Some people didn't love lawn ornaments the way Pearl did.

**Philip** (3:42)
And we know Pearl from the very first picture was the human, right?

**SPEAKER_11** (3:45)
Who lived with them.

**SPEAKER_6** (3:48)
One dark day, they found themselves lost.

**Philip** (3:53)
Do you need directions?

**SPEAKER_9** (3:56)
Asked a garden gnome. Yes, we do, said Norm.

**Philip** (4:01)
What a coincidence, replied the gnome. So do we.

**SPEAKER_12** (4:06)
Gnomes weren't great with maps.

**Lisa Bueno** (4:10)
So Betty and Jack told the gnomes where to go and plotted a new route for themselves.

**Lisa Bueno** (4:16)
It's very helpful to have a map.

**Lisa Bueno** (4:17)
We can see in the picture that that's exactly what's going on here. They're all figuring this out together.

**Philip** (4:23)
And they've got a long journey ahead of them.

**SPEAKER_15** (4:25)
The road was rough, but the ornaments were careful and always kept a lookout for the dreaded trash truck.

**SPEAKER_9** (4:36)
Dun, dun, dun.

**Lisa Bueno** (4:37)
And it looks like they are on their way.

They had just climbed a tall building to figure out where they were when a gang of creepy gargoyles started following them.

**SPEAKER_9** (4:48)
Oh no.

**SPEAKER_15** (4:50)
Luckily, a brave moose statue chased them away.

**Philip** (4:57)
How can I ever thank you?

**Lisa Bueno** (5:00)
Asked Betty, her heart all aflutter because, of course, she is a deer, right?

**SPEAKER_16** (5:07)
Think nothing of it, ma'am, said the moose.

**Lisa Bueno** (5:11)
The ornaments traveled through swamps and fields.

**Lisa Bueno** (5:14)
They climbed buildings and mountains.

**Lisa Bueno** (5:17)
I'm going to guess Pearl and her family moved from one coast to another. Don't you think? They're having to cross quite a bit of land.

**Philip** (5:25)
But they still had a long way to go.

**Lisa Bueno** (5:28)
We can see them passing through a field, a cornfield maybe, and through a starry dark night.

**Philip** (5:36)
Why don't you all stay here with us, honey?
