Vice President JD Vance, revealing that Iran threatened to walk out of his big meeting and negotiations, but never actually followed through with it. Again, this is a big part of trying to end this war, getting close, but no cigar to ending this war. Here's the vice president.

**JD Vance** (0:23)
The thing with the Iranians, yes, they did threaten to walk out, or at least there were social media threats that they would walk out, but we were negotiating well past one in the morning yesterday, so they didn't walk out, and their technical team is still here in Bergenstock working with our technical team, actually, as we speak, though I imagine maybe some of them are taking a break to watch this news conference. But look, what we told the Iranians yesterday is, when you guys engage in what us millennials might call trash talk, you can't expect the president of the United States not to respond and not to correct the record.
So when they say things that aren't true, the president is going to respond to it. I'm going to respond to it. Americans are going to respond to it. When they make threats that aren't rooted in reality, they have to accept that the president of the United States is actually going to set the record straight. That's all that happened. So yes, there was a little bit of threatening, there was a little bit of whining, but at the end of the day, the talks continued and we made great progress.

Walk out where? Like to the room across the hall?
And then what's going to happen? They're going to walk right back into JD Vance's residence five minutes later. All right, you got a deal.

**Hammer** (1:34)
Right. Like what do you realize? We know where all of you sleep. We blew up the first Ayatollah.

**Nigel** (1:40)
And all of his staff and like 50 people down the chain.

**Hammer** (1:45)
And about 85 percent of the son of the Ayatollah, we've blown up.
There's just a talking stump wearing a turban that's left. So if you want to get cute, I would suggest now is not the time. Maybe we sit down and have some more conversations. I got to be honest, though, Nigel, I'm I am so over.
We've almost got a deal. It's almost there. You know, we made this reference earlier in the show for something different. But it's like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. And Lucy always taking it away. Every time I hear, oh, a deal is imminent. We've got, you know, all the parameters of a deal here. Narrator, not a damn thing happens.

**Nigel** (2:30)
Seems like this one is a little different. The straight is more or less open, then it's closed, then it's open again, then it's closed. We have oil prices coming down. We have stocks going up.
And it doesn't seem it doesn't. It wouldn't be something Donald Trump would officially put his name on if he didn't believe something was different this time.

**Hammer** (2:52)
I just think so many people are burned out from this. Like at first, you have that rush of patriotism, right? Whether you agree with the war, whether you disagree with the war going into Iran, we can have that debate. But if we were going to do it, we're like, hell yeah, USA. Let's go in there, kick their ass, remind everybody what time it is, get in and get out.
Well, it keeps getting dragged on and on. And I know there's not as much fighting as there was early on in the conflict. But after so many years, I think people are just burned out of being involved in the Middle East.

**Nigel** (3:30)
And then what happens if Iran gets squirrely and something happens? Will Donald Trump follow up on his promise to say, hey, look, if this doesn't work out, we'll bomb this out of them.
We'll bomb this out of them. I mean, does that happen?

**Hammer** (3:47)
I mean, you can't rule it out.

**Nigel** (3:49)
That's what Donald Trump knows. And that's what Donald Trump understands. And that's what the people that are, whoever it is negotiating over and Iran also understand. Yeah, well, he did it to us two or three times. I'm pretty sure he's capable of doing it again. So maybe we better get in the line this time.

**Hammer** (4:10)
Donald Trump's foreign policy, his style is kind of like Mel Gibson in the Lethal Weapon movies. He's got the gun to his mouth. Is he going to pull the trigger? Is he going to pull it on you? You don't know. He's that much of a wild card, but you've got to take him seriously.
