Today, we will close with one of the topics that I feel is of radical importance. Because the Gospel of Jesús Christ is a Gospel of life. And one of the most serious problems that we are facing today is the great amount of illness that exists in the Body of Christ. We believe that Jesús Christ died for our sins on the Cross, and in that we have no problem, because it is a more or less abstract question. Amen? If I commit a sin, I repent, I come to the Cross of the Calvary. But when it comes to the illness that has to do with the same design as sin, Jesús carried our sins on the Cross, Jesús carried our illnesses on the Cross.
In some way, the people of God lack understanding of what it means, Jesús carried my illnesses. It's as if Jesús had not lied. So why does the Church persevere in so much physical pain? Something has to be doing wrong, when they say Amen, Glory to God.
And in fact, God made a pact with man and promised man that he would live 120 years, as Noah promises. He said, I make a pact with you and you will live on earth and man, the flesh I have created, will live for an eternal pact, 120 years. But the great majority of people never reach the 120 years. The people of Israel lived 450 years without a single person. We are talking about 3 million people who left Egypt, crossed the desert and continued to live in health for 450 years. Israel did not see a single person who was sick.
And Israel got sick, come with me, to 2 Chronicles 16 And it says, in the year 39 of his reign, Isa was seriously ill with his feet, and his disease did not seek Jehovah. Say, he did not seek Jehovah in his disease, but the doctors. And Isa slept with his parents and died in the year 41 of his reign.
And this broke a whole structure of divine health in which the whole people of Israel lived.
The whole people was subject to disease.
And there is a reason to be for the doctors. And the reason to be for the doctors is for a world that doesn't know Jesús. Thousands of people that don't know Jesús need doctors. But if we come to Jesús Christ, and the Word of God says, He carried my diseases, and He promises us a kingdom in which we can live in divine health, we have to make a change in our minds and stop depending on medicine. The two strongest things that are hard for us to leave to trust in God, we can trust in God in many things, but the two most difficult things to leave is to trust in God for our finances and to trust in God for our health. As you are a powerful God, as long as the only thing I have to do is to come to church and behave myself regularly. You are a powerful God to solve a small problem, but of course not the financial one, because I am still a person full of needs and much less the health. I have my whole system organized of how I will guide my own.
And today we find that 80% of the population of the world is sick. And of those 80%, there is also an 80% of the people of God that are part of that 80% that are sick, that are taking drugs. And that, Fernando was telling us, that we had to change our mentality. He was telling us that we have structures within us that belong to the kingdom of darkness. Emerson was also telling us that when our thoughts are of darkness, when they are not subject to what God is saying, then they put sin before us.
So, since we were little, we have generated a whole structure of illness and a structure of drug dependence. Since we are children, we have a structure that we inherited from our parents, from our ancestors, amen, in which we run to the doctor to the least symptom of illness. We immediately take him to the doctor, the doctor gives him a diagnosis, he gives him a medicine and we give him the medicine. And this has been deeply embedded in our being. It is a path that we continue to walk. I feel sick, the doctor runs, he gives me a diagnosis, I take the medicine. Amen. And we have been raised in this way, we raise our children in this way. It is a whole system of beliefs and a whole system of behavior that we have been dragging from generation to generation and that has nothing to do with God. Now, God necessarily needs to destroy our structures, because that structure does not belong to the Kingdom of God and that structure is killing you and your family. So we need to understand how that structure was formed inside of us. Amen. And if I understand how I was formed in that structure, I will be able to break that structure.
