It's October 12th. This is New York Rangers News Today. Powered by AI your team, your update. Alright, so the hockey weekend wrapped up with some intriguing matchups despite it being a light schedule. Only three games on the board, Sunday since most teams were taking a break for Canadian Thanksgiving. But trust me, the action was still intense. First up, the Rangers decided they weren't in trouble after all.

They took on the Canucks without their two starting goalies, and pretty much cruised to a win. Dylan Garand stepped in that, stopping 19 shots and only allowing 2 goals. If he keeps up this kind of play, he could be a solid waiver wire option. On the other hand, the Flyers just can't catch a break. They dropped their first 6 games of the season, and their matchup against the defending champs, Carolina Hurricanes, didn't help their cause. Philadelphia set a franchise record for the worst start, and it looks like their early season struggles are pretty real. It's rough out there for Flyers fans, no doubt. Then there's the Kraken who are continuing to surprise folks this season.

They took down the Capitals in a 5-3 victory, with Alex Ovechkin scoring his first goal of the season. Seattle responded well with Jared McCann stepping up to secure the lead. Who would have thought they'd be making waves after last season's struggles?

So, with surprises and frustrations across the league, this season's shaping up to be wild. Keep your eyes peeled as things heat up in the weeks ahead.
