A couple financial updates with some fun little tidbits of info for you and just some cool video game stuff. Honestly, I don't know how to say it besides just some cool stuff, but we can't really focus on it too much because Nintendo might get mad at us, but we're going to talk about it later. We're going to hide that in the show because this is Kinda Funny Games Daily.
What's up, everyone? And welcome to Kinda Funny Games Daily for Monday, August 10th, 2026 Of course, I'm your host, Tim Gettys. I am joined today by Roger Proconi.
**Roger Proconi** (1:06)
It's always great to hide things from Nintendo by telling them, hey, here's where it's going to be.
**Barrett** (1:10)
Here's exactly where it's going to be.
**Roger Proconi** (1:12)
Let's hide it, though.
**Tim Gettys** (1:15)
We'll get to it.
**Barrett** (1:16)
Yeah, I'll be fine. We'll talk about it.
**Roger Proconi** (1:17)
I got something to talk about.
**Tim Gettys** (1:18)
How are you doing?
**Roger Proconi** (1:19)
I'm doing good, Tim. Been playing some fields of mystery. I've been really locked into that.
Swung around in Spider-Man.
**Tim Gettys** (1:25)
Of course you did.
**Barrett** (1:25)
Oh my God. You're not alone.
**Roger Proconi** (1:26)
You gotta do it.
**Tim Gettys** (1:27)
Oh, of course I did.
**Barrett** (1:28)
Are you kidding me?
**Tim Gettys** (1:29)
I watched Brand New Day, went home, played Spider-Man.
**Roger Proconi** (1:31)
Immediately.
**Tim Gettys** (1:31)
Watched Brand New Day again, went home, played more Spider-Man.
**Roger Proconi** (1:34)
I tried to do it this weekend. It was just packed. Packed everywhere.
I was trying to go to the theater. Just packed. Oh, dude. It's nuts.
**Tim Gettys** (1:41)
It is. I mean, obviously, we've been talking about the box office of it, and it's absolutely wild. That's the power of Spider-Man. It's one of those things where we shouldn't be surprised. But also, I am surprised that, and I understand the context is very different of where we were at with the pandemic and everything, and just how vibrant theaters are right now in this very moment. You know what I mean? The back-to-back of a Spider-Man, a Nolan movie, looking forward to a Dune 3 and an Avengers. It's like there's just a lot of good... Also, things like Obsession and Backroom coming out. Supergirl was in there. That's true. Toy Story 5 was in there. It did really well. Yeah, it did well. But anyway, a lot of good stuff there. Getting the theater's juices flowing. But I go to theater all the time, multiple times a week when I get to live my life the way I want to. And the local theater that I go to, the Regal at Stone's Town, it's never been like this.
They had to make new queues for the concessions because there's usually barely lines.
You have to wait for maybe four or five people in front of you. These are lines of like 40, 50 people.
**Roger Proconi** (2:48)
Unbelievable.
**Tim Gettys** (2:48)
Throughout the day, all hours. I'm shocked.
**Roger Proconi** (2:51)
Yeah, as I'm driving past the one right by my house, it is just this constant line of people coming in from the parking garage, walking right to the movie theater. And it's just, it's so cool to see. Like that's always the barometer for me of like, oh, it's a good weekend when you see people walking out, having a good time, but it is just constant lines. Doesn't matter what time, 9 a.m., 10 a.m., end of the night, everybody's always walking to that theater. It is a good time. But yeah, Spider-Man, man. Swinging around Spider-Man, there's nothing better than that.
**Tim Gettys** (3:15)
There's simply nothing better than that. The thing is, not everything has to be ranked, but yes, it does, because that's what life's all about, right? But it's like, I understand that there's this knee-jerk reaction to like, oh, this isn't as good as this, so therefore, whatever. So the conversation on Spider-Man 1 and 2, Miles Morales kinda is its own smaller thing, so you know, whatever. But 1 and 2, the way that they're talked about, I understand that the story in 1 just is better. I understand that the story in 2 has problems and like all that stuff.
