Gypsy Rose Blanchard, that's where we're going to start today. And we have a lot to get to on the program, but it doesn't feel quite right here. I'm not saying that there is anything amiss, anything criminal going on. I'm not accusing her of anything. No one here is doing that. But, you know, there's just some weirdness. There's some weirdness going on, some math that doesn't quite seem to add up very well. If you're just starting to catch along on October 1st, Ken Urker, Gypsy's ex and the father of her baby Aurora, was found dead in his Louisiana home on his 34th birthday. The initial word is an apparent overdose, but here's where things get incredibly dark. Leading up to his death, Gypsy and Ken had split up. That happens, and rumors were swirling hard that Ken was completely done with the toxicity and was gearing up to put on a full custody fight for their daughter Aurora.

Now, the parish sheriff's office is investigating, and meanwhile Gypsy is immediately running to the media doing interviews calling Ken her soulmate and an amazing father. Joining us to discuss where all this goes and I'm curious to get your take as well, because I know you've made some comments over the week of it feeling a little off a little bit. Jennifer Coffindaffer, retired FBI special agent, and Robin Drake, retired FBI special agent, chief of the counterintelligence behavioral analysis program and master class instructor, our panel today.

Jen, what's feeling off to you about this story?

Jennifer Coffindaffer (1:54)

Well, I think what's feeling off is the fact that at least from reports, he was not an addict. So, and a lot of that can be closeted, of course, but he had a job. There was just no precursor information regarding him having this addiction problem. In fact, Gypsy Rose says he wasn't an addict in the system. So to go from, you know, at least reportedly, not being an addict to dying of a drug overdose, that just seems a little eerie. And then you add into it these possible sprinklings of a motive regarding him wanting to have custody and their situation being completely on the rocks. And then you add into that that she orchestrated the murder of her mother not very long ago.

So you have somebody that seemingly is capable of something like this. All I'm saying is law enforcement needs to do a deep dive.

Robin Dreeke (2:48)

Yeah, I'm going to do a deep dive. Yeah, there's this crazy attracts crazy. And I was trying to figure out what she actually posts to be so friggin popular because I don't get I get her being a victim by her mother. But again, like you said, Jen, she killed her mother. She orchestrated the killing of her mother. So that right there demonstrates a high level of no problem solving skills. You know, again, I understand the background, but there still has to be accountability. And there was and she paid her price. But if you have the capability once and you're out and you're attracting other crazy people. And like you said, there's something really there's something very off about this. There's just a lot of details I think we just don't know yet because I'm holding out my judgment on everything too.

Tony Brueski (3:33)

And I mean, obviously, you know, chaos can look, you know, questionable. And sometimes just the outcome of the chaos. But not always that. And Gypsy is an odd duck. I mean, to put it lightly, the fact that she had that horrific upbringing did then commission the murder of her mother, which she went away for for a while. He's still away for the rest of his existence.

And then she's out. And then she's this celebrity figure.

She's never lived any semblance of a healthy life, ever, it seems. And half of that is not by her fault whatsoever. The other half is by her fault whatsoever. I mean, she went for the siren call of celebrity, as the judge put it when talking about Becky Hill, and went down that road. And I know I challenge most people to not go down that road and that you know nothing of the world. How are you going to make a living? Here's millions of dollars that are on your lap. But again, how do you handle that? It's all going to be chaos. I guess my point being, if your modality was being able to murder your mom not that long ago because she was a horrific person to you, or that was your, I mean, and I believe she was, but it was also her perception because it was true. But if she's perceiving that Ken Urker is a horrible person to her, even if he's not, but that's her perception the same way that she perceived mom was, I'm wondering, okay, well, you pulled that lever once. Are you prepared to pull it again?
