**Dr. Gerald Auger** (0:01)
All right, what's up, everybody? Welcome to the party. Today is Friday, July 24th, 2026 This is Simply Cyber's Daily Cyber Threat Brief podcast. I'm your host, two thumbs, all smiles, big hot pipe and cup of Joe.
Dr. Gerald Auger coming to you live from the Buffer Auger Flow Studio. We got the old school retro synth wave screensaver on. Things back to order, manual sound effects still today. If you're looking to stay current on the top cyber news while hanging out with like-minded professionals, whether you're an entry-level analyst or a CSO, you have to stay current, believe that. We're going to do all that and more in the next hour. Stay tuned. This is your Daily Cyber Threat Brief.
All right. What's up, everybody? Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. As I said, yes, over the next hour, we will go through the eight top cyber stories of the day. I'll give you the headline and the surface level story that you'd get anywhere else. And then we're gonna take a deep dive, get your scuba gear on. Scuba Steve! And we're gonna go down deep into the weeds and get mining on additional insights, additional value. I have 20 plus years of experience in industry, multiple degrees. I love it. I love educating people, and I love cybersecurity. So we're gonna find something for you in every story. A little nugget. At worse, just to be fully transparent, at worse, sometimes there's a story that has nothing to do with cyber because I don't pick the stories. And you'll at least get like a pretty good, what's the word I want to say, rabble rousing around the story selection itself. So there's value in every single story. As I said, I don't pick the stories, so I have no idea what's coming down the pike. That's part of the fun and charm of the show. I don't research or prep in advance. Ain't nobody got time for that. But what I do have time is for you and to help you be the best cyber professional you can be, your organization the best it can be, so on and so forth. So I hope you're down with the sickness. Of course, say hello and chat if you are here. This is a live chat feed directly above my head. Green font people are Simply Cyber Squad members. They have access to additional emotes and good times. It helps go to support the channel. What's up, Mondo Avilia, Rick Kelly, AdTech, PortZero AKA, Ray W. Guys, blue badge is all abound. I love it, Space Tacos.
