Good morning, everybody, and welcome to the Daily Cyber Threat Brief here on the Simply Cyber YouTube channel. We're coming to you live today. Yep, live here for the Daily Cyber Threat Brief, coming to you here from the Central Florida studios. We're going to go through eight stories today, and I'm going to share my insights. So grab your coffee, get comfortable, and let's go.
And welcome back, everybody. Good to see everybody. I'm excited to be here. Do not adjust your set. Yes, we may be just as handsome as each other, but I am not Jerry Auger. No, I'm the one. Well, I'm not the only one, because there is another James McQuagan in the world, but I'm James McQuagan at 35,000 feet. Very excited to be joining all of you here today. I can see we've got Marlon, we've got Ad Tech out there, I saw Carrie out there dropping the dad jokes, Marcus Kyler, president of the YEEK crew, we got Mini, Fake Human, K1K, there's an interesting handle, Ad Tech. I think I saw my good buddy, Bruce, Mr. Bruce and Hacks, Ryan Pearson. So welcome to all of you that are here watching today.
I'm James McQuagan, as I said, I'm going to be sharing the eight stories from today that we get, and then share with you my insights, my thoughts, my perspectives based off of 25 plus years of IT, cybersecurity, teaching. I've worked for, what did I do? Let's see, worked 18 years for a large energy company. I've spent six years being CISO advisor over at Noble Four, and now I do my own thing. Now I'm founder and CISO advisor, advisory CISO, but helping organizations with their cybersecurity of apparent security. So I'm real excited to be here. And I know I'm excited, but how about any first timers that may be out there? Do we got any first timers? Drop it in chat if you are a first timer here. Always excited that we have new people joining us because this is an awesome community. We like to include everybody, have that inclusion with everyone. And real excited that if you are joining us, definitely drop it in there because we've got a fun little emote as you are a part of the squad that we have here at Simply Cyber. Our Team SC squad, drop that in chat. One of the things I was wanting to check was, nope, I don't have my latest, how long I've been a member of the squad, I think I'm up over 40 months now, coming up on four years, but it's always a lot of fun, especially when it's your first time here, so let us know. Also, make sure you're smashing that like button as well. Let us know that you're enjoying the show because it not only helps Jerry with the Simply Cyber, but it helps all of you and helps other people find the show as well. So, see, we got Phil Safford, Code Brews out there, and I know a lot of us are probably hanging out because, you know, yeah, it's a fun show, but also at the same time, we're all here having a good time chatting with each other. But the other underlying issue that I know a lot of folks love to watch this show is for getting some, you know, CPEs, those Continuing Professional Education Credits, CEUs, CPEs, CEPs, whatever you call them, whatever it may be. But doing this show, we're offering a half CPE credit, so a half hour of continuing education, because we do this in a webinar type format. We're going to be sharing our information with you.
And so that gives you the opportunity to learn. So let's have a look at the CPE page. How do you get those CPEs, James? Well, the way that you do it is to go out and visit Jerry's site. You can go out to, actually, let me just back up here. Let me take you right from the homepage. If you go out to simplycyber.io and he's got all the other great things you can check out, free resources, books, media, and everything else. But right here, under Threat Brief, you go into the Threat Brief, and then I'm zoomed in here, you go and get the CPE link.
cyberthreatbrief.simplycyber.io/cpe, it's dropped in the chat. You can hit exclamation mark CPE, and you will get the page. You just come in here and you just fill out your first name, you fill out your email address, you check the two little boxes, you click submit and lo and behold, the end of the month or sorry, the first day of every month, Jerry, whether he has to do it manually or he's got an AI agent doing it for him, he will send you an email listing all of your CPE credits that you get for the month. So theoretically, you could get what? 20 days in a month on average, you get 10 CPEs a month, 120 CPEs a year, give or take, depending on you on vacation, very on vacation. But this show comes to you live every day, Monday to Friday, 8 to 9, except on American holidays, because I know we do have some global folks that are out there as well. So, real excited that you're here. Hopefully, you get your CPEs.
