Hey, what's up, everybody? Welcome to the party. Today is Monday, July 13th, 2026 This is episode 1,172 of your Simply Cyber Daily Cyber Threat Brief podcast. I'm two thumbs all smiles, big cup of coffee and ready to rock. Host, Dr. Gerald Auger. And over the next hour, we're gonna rip through the top cyber stories of the day. So if that's what you're looking for, community, engagement, threat briefings, well then you're in the right place. Get your cup of coffee, get settled in. We got a great show for you. We're off and running on this beautiful Monday morning.
Hello, hello, good morning, everybody. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are back and recharged and ready to go here for the week. And if you had to work over the weekend, maybe you're in a 24-7 sock. Well, then I hope you're, you know, Monday, Tuesday, you get off, or you're Wednesday, Thursday, whatever it is. I hope you get some R&R and some opportunity to recharge the batteries. It was a beautiful day out here in New England. Went out and visited one of my close, close college friends. He has a boat, so I officially have a friend who owns a boat, which is something that I've been told is something that you, you don't want to own a boat, but you want to have a friend with a boat. So we went out and did some boating type stuff. So I got a little bit of a sun kiss. If you're wondering why my skin looks a little, a little bit more shiny or, you know, pinkish, it's because I don't, you know, I'm an idiot and didn't put on sunblock. Guys, listen, we've got an hour to go through the eight top cyber stories of the day. Now, of course, you can always just read those stories yourself, get an RSS feed as people choose to do. But why would you want to sit here? Well, over the next hour, I'm going to be joined by friends like Christopher Licea, Mendo Ovellia, AA Witherspoon, Marcus Kyler, Space Tacos in the Lurker mode, AdTuck and the team Solo, Abimbola. Guys, so many Simply Cyber community members are going to be live in chat, sharing their thoughts, opinions, tips, techniques, tricks and insights. And I will take my 20 plus years of cybersecurity experience and dive deep into the stories with the goal of delivering additional value that you wouldn't necessarily get anywhere else. I am trying to make something special and bespoke for you. Ultimately, at the end of the day, I want you to get value from the show and I want you to level up from the show. All right. So that's what we're doing here. Like I said, eight stories. I've researched and prepped for zero of them. I don't even know what stories are coming up. I did note the headline on one because it was interesting. It's not really anything that's going to change the way we operate day in and day out. Carrie's here, Elliot Matice is here, Sierra Montgomery, we got the left coast contingent. If we get Phil Stafford, we'll get the entire, got to catch them all. Sierra, Elliot, Phil. I love it.
