You're listening to The Hammer and Nigel Show. Live, The Hammer and Nigel Road Show, Coaches Tavern, downtown, baby, on Pennsylvania Caddy Corner, from the Fieldhouse. I'm Nigel Jason Hammer, right over there, with a pair of very special guests joining us here on stage at Coaches Tavern.
Jason Hammer (0:24)
Individually, they both fill in from time to time on 93WIBC. Both will be on the air with me next week in some capacities.
But together, they're known as those ash holes. We've got Brian Alvey, we've got Jerry Lopez, the gentleman. How the hell are you?
Brian Alvey (0:42)
What is going on?
Jerry Lopez (0:43)
When you want to burn it down, you invite us.
SPEAKER_5 (0:45)
So here we are.
Brian Alvey (0:46)
Soon as we walked in the door, the management staff told everybody to hide their value.
Jerry Lopez (0:51)
Brian, I said, they don't want to work past 3.36. The show is going to be done when we leave.
Brian Alvey (0:55)
I know, right? We got stuff to do.
Jason Hammer (0:58)
So next week, when Big Nige goes on vacation number 75 this season, you guys are going to be hanging out with us.
SPEAKER_5 (1:05)
Yeah.
Jason Hammer (1:07)
Hey, did you watch the debate last night? Jerry, I'll start with you. Did you watch the debate?
Jerry Lopez (1:11)
I didn't. I don't care. I mean, I'm at the point now. Mine made up. I'm a Max Engliener bus kind of guy. Like, yeah, I don't care about a bow-buy and I don't need Greg Ballard. I don't care about any of that. I got my guy and I'm good with it. Yeah.
Brian Alvey (1:21)
Brian? Yeah, I caught the clips, the highlights, because I knew everybody was going to put those out, not all the boring stuff between. And, you know, it is what it is. I'm voting Max Engeling, hard Max Engeling. It's obvious. He's got the qualifications and he's not the Manchurian candidate that the Democrat is, and he's not the whatever the hell Greg Ballard's supposed to be.
Jerry Lopez (1:44)
And I understand people are mad about Diego. I get it.
Brian Alvey (1:47)
Yeah.
Jerry Lopez (1:47)
But I think the Republicans said, okay, we made a mistake. He's not our guy. And I think they're to be applauded for that.
SPEAKER_5 (1:53)
Yeah, absolutely.
Jason Hammer (1:54)
Or we can't win, so you're not our guy.
SPEAKER_5 (1:56)
I disagree. That's what it always is. Right.
Brian Alvey (1:59)
I disagree a little bit. I think it was a leadership challenge. They stepped up. I would argue they should have did it a little sooner, but he obviously was not the guy to move forward with.
Jerry Lopez (2:08)
Yeah, he wasn't the guy three, four months before I picked Max.
Brian Alvey (2:11)
Yeah, I get it. But you got to find somebody that's willing to do it. And Max inherited a mess.
Jerry Lopez (2:17)
Would you rather have a bow by just to prove a point? No, I'm on the no. Give me the max.
Nigel (2:21)
Let me ask you a question. If Max pulls it, just a side note, if Max pulls this off, what does this mean for Jim Banks, the senator who put him up basically and endorsed him?
Jason Hammer (2:32)
Held him up like Simba in the lion's den and said, this is the candidate.
SPEAKER_5 (2:36)
But I'm pro banks. I'm pro banks. No, no.
Nigel (2:38)
I'm saying what does this say about Jim Banks, his position and his stature, not only in this state.
Brian Alvey (2:45)
I'll go the other direction with it, Nigel. If hypothetically, if Max doesn't get it, I don't think it diminishes Jim Banks. I think Jim Banks is doing great things as a US Senator. I'm proud to have supported him. And I like the guy. I do. I'll be honest with you. I'm happy. We have a US Senator that's a veteran that actually supports his fellow veterans.
Jerry Lopez (3:06)
And he's a Trump guy. But here's my question then. Is it really vote for or against Max or is it a vote for or against Jim Banks?
Brian Alvey (3:12)
Yeah.
Jason Hammer (3:13)
All right. So I'm going to play a couple pieces of audio for you guys. Okay. I'm going to play two pieces that I want you to respond. First, this is Max Engeling last night, asked about the audit of the office, which was a hot topic and voter security. Allison.
SPEAKER_5 (3:27)
Thank you. I have said repeatedly that we need to work with the Inspector General in the State House who is an independent entity to do the work that they are supposed to be doing and investigating the office. And I have said repeatedly as well, that when that audit happens, that I would work with them as required. If they ask for something from the office, we will certainly work with them to find anything that's happening there. And then, they do their own due diligence to see where it goes from there and whether they need to further investigate or prosecute. So yes, but importantly to the second question, I think when you're talking about only eligible voters voting in our elections, this was what the question was. Do we need to ensure that it's only US citizens voting in our elections? The answer is an absolute yes.
