Welcome in What's Wright? with Nick Wright, episode 512 This episode, as always, is brought to you by our friends at Boost Mobile. Damonza, good to see you. How are you this morning?
Damonza (0:16)
Good to see you. Doing great. Feeling refreshed.
Nick Wright (0:18)
I, good. I'm glad you're feeling refreshed. I'm finally, I think, caught up on sleep after a weekend in Vegas without much sleep. I also have some quick little business to handle before we get to the actual show.
On today's show, by the way, we will talk about the potential collapse of one of my Super Bowl picks, the Philadelphia Eagles. The only saving grace for me is all off season. I was like, hey, could see them going 14 and 3, could also see them going 7 and 10
Now, I did end up landing on the 14 and 3 go to the Super Bowl side of it, but it was, this was always on the board, and we'll discuss why and what they do from here later. We will also, this Thursday night, football game tonight, that the Cowboys can kind of just end another one of my not Super Bowl picks, but playoff picks, the Bucks season. I'm a little worried about that game for the Cowboys. We'll just, just a tiny, whenever your defense is that bad, you're always, an upset is always on the board, is what I would say. Even against a backup quarterback, if you have just a terrible defense, all it takes is one mishandled kick return, the other team gets back to back possessions, and you're playing from behind the eight ball the whole game. So we will discuss that, and a little sports media ombudsman on What's Wright? with Nick Wright, a little media commentary after some viral takes yesterday. But before we get to any of that, I have been dealing with for years the tax, Damonza, of at some point on some pod on this show, or some, I did a power ranking of my children, and I said in that very moment, when you were asking me, your youngest sister was in last place, and I forgot even what she had done. It was something I thought I was being, as they would say, cheeky.
She has never taken it that way. She brings it up quite a bit.
Damonza (2:34)
Oh, she saw that.
Nick Wright (2:36)
I guess. I don't know, man. There are two things she brings up all the time, not all the time, but way more often than she should. One is six years ago, seven years ago, I guess, actually, when we were moving into the house we currently live in, and I was building an IKEA closet, she came by as a five or a six-year-old and asked me for a hug, and I said, not right now, because I was lifting something up, and she to this day will be like, don't say I can have a hug whenever I want, remember the time in the closet?
She'll bring up the power rankings thing. With that said, today happens to be, and this is horrifying for me, my baby girl's 13th birthday. Your little sister is a teenager now, and so if you were to ask me this very moment, this second, power rank the kids, she is in pole position, you are in a strong number two, and nothing against Diora, who's very often the favorite, but she left me on read yesterday on a text message that was good advice, so right now she's in last.
Damonza (3:57)
Everybody's getting left on read by Diora.
Nick Wright (4:00)
It's crazy.
Damonza (4:01)
What is she doing?
Nick Wright (4:02)
I mean, she's just out to lunch. She just won't even come see us, or won't even talk to us. It's really unbelievable.
Damonza (4:10)
Superstar. Happy birthday, baby girl. Happy birthday, I love you.
Nick Wright (4:14)
I'm going to tell you one other quick thing before we get to the real show.
She sent us a birthday list that was like a Christmas list. Like, calm down a bit on this. But one of the things on there was for me to talk to my agent about her, because she's an aspiring actress, and she is determined, because I always said like, no, you're not going to be a child actor, like I'm not doing it. Now she thinks that since she is 13, she's, you know, no longer a little kid.
Damonza (4:52)
Restrictions coming off a little bit. She should have made that the only thing on the list.
Oh, strong take.
Nick Wright (4:58)
Strong take. Okay. All right. So, happy birthday to Deanna.
