It's October 6th, New York Rangers News. Today starts now, AI powered and game ready. I'm Corey with the story. Alright, so the New York Islanders are rolling into the Battle of New York after a huge 6-0 win over the New Jersey Devils. Six different players scored in that game, which is pretty wild.

Gotta love that team effort.

They're facing off against the Rangers on October 6th, and here's the kicker. The Isles swept the series against the Rangers last year, outscoring them 14-3 over all four matchups. That's a nice confidence booster right there. Matthew Schaefer's on fire too, holding a 4-0 record against the Rangers. Rookie Victor Eklund just netted his first goal in the league, adding to that fresh energy. The Islanders are definitely riding that wave of good vibes. Islanders head coach Pete DeBoer is keeping it focused though. He reminded everyone that they have to take it one game at a time. The Rangers are no slouches either. They're coming in hot with a three-game winning streak. It's going to be a battle for sure.

So yeah, with puck drop at 7.30pm Eastern, this should be an intense one. The rivalry is strong and both teams want to keep that momentum rolling. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.
