Is Trump's Deal a BETRAYAL for Israel? (Ari says yes, Jeremy says no)

But at the same time, it feels like a betrayal only because of the way that Israel is now being treated. Once Trump starts taking credit for Israel's existence, you're just asking for the God of Israel to prove you wrong.

**Jeremy** (0:17)
There's a reason that King David was told by God when he said, where should I start off with my kingdom? Where should I go establish? He said, Hebron, not Jerusalem. The first seven years were in Hebron. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the first acquisition. He said, go to your roots, start off in your roots. That's how you build the future. And the nation of Israel is feeling that on a deep, visceral, spiritual level.

He called up Netanyahu and specifically said, listen, you have the stage, you have the microphone. Why aren't you invoking the name of God? Can you please do that more? That was the conversation with these two world leaders. And I'm like, you know, he's just so right. Obviously he's right. Imagine if Netanyahu were to present it that way.

I know it's been a couple of weeks, but it was a long time before that, so hey, we're on a little bit of a roll here. So Jeremy, Ari, Josh, good to be with everyone this week. And holding back, and I think that that's probably been, that's probably a great way to actually say this week, I've been like jaw dropped. You see the news and you're just like, oh my gracious, what's even happening out there? It's absolutely crazy. Feels like we're on some sort of roller coaster or something.

I'm curious to hear from you guys, like overall kind of bottom line, is this just like a horrible, awful thing that's happening? Or is there like, God's in charge? There's a silver lining here.
Now, like, what's your honest gut reaction?

I mean, I'll share mine.

**Ari** (2:24)
I'm shocked.

**Luke** (2:25)
I was going to say, go ahead, Ari. Permission to speak.

**Jeremy** (2:28)
I felt a sense of relief. I really did feel a sense of relief. I always am nervous, existentially, spiritually nervous, when we are putting our faith. And that's why I was like, on some level, I was like, we should be voting for Kamala.
Right? Why? Because when Israel has an adversary in the White House, and we really feel like, oh, we're really on our own here, we tend to act in a wiser, better way.
We, it's only under George W. Bush, who was a great friend to Israel, that Israel ethnically cleansed every Jew from Gaza. Obama, eight years, what did we give away? What suicidal back, self-immolating emotions did we do? Nothing, nothing, because he was clearly an adversary. And so when we put our faith in America, and it's not even just a spiritual thing, obviously, you know, every kid in day school grows up singing the songs, Baruch hagever, na na na na. You know the song? Asher yivtach pashem. It means blessed is the man who places his faith in God.

You know, altivtichu benedivim, don't put your faith in princes, in mortal man who cannot save.
His spirit departs, he returns to the earth, he's flesh and blood, it's never healthy. So when we feel like, oh, we're really on our own here, we have nowhere to turn, nowhere to put our faith but in God. I sent you that message.

Yeah, I brought this up because I thought it was very fitting. You sent a message and basically says, in synagogue this morning, we shifted from Trump is amazing to God is in charge.
