The Hammer and Nigel Presents Is Anything It depends upon what the meaning of the word is.

SPEAKER_2 (0:09)

Yes.

SPEAKER_1 (0:11)

Is this anything?

SPEAKER_3 (0:13)

All right, let's rock and roll.

SPEAKER_4 (0:15)

Brought to you by Indiana Unclaimed, a program presented by the Attorney General's Office here in Indiana.

Todd Rakita, the Indiana Attorney General, and his office reuniting Hoosiers with over one million bucks. An unclaimed property every single week is fast. It's easy and it's free. That's the key word here. Free Indiana unclaimed dot gov as Nigel's on vacation. I'm going to run these stories by Brian Alvey. He's going to be the one that tells you if these stories are anything or not. Are you ready? Yeah, let's go.

Is this anything a heat wave in Southern California is accelerating mosquito breeding? So mosquito control treatments have begun to reduce their populations. The heat wave can cause breeding cycles to shrink in half, actually. Here is a couple of members of the district control communications for mosquitoes talking about this kind of adverse effect.

SPEAKER_2 (1:19)

If you really want to get rid of mosquitoes, unfortunately, you have to try to get rid of them when they're in their aquatic stage. It is so much easier to kill hundreds of little mosquito larvae when they are in the water than one when it's flying already and has bitten you a few times. So this is why we concentrate a lot on tipping, tossing, and then taking action.

SPEAKER_4 (1:41)

That do anything?

Brian Alvey (1:42)

Yeah, absolutely. I'm going to put my proverbial blue-haired liberal wig on right now and say, how the hell can you guys go create a genocide for other bloodsuckers when you are a bunch of bloodsuckers?

SPEAKER_4 (1:57)

We got a genocide reference here. You're right. You did put the liberal wig on.

Brian Alvey (2:01)

I did. I'm going to take it off, though.

SPEAKER_4 (2:03)

Okay. Thank you. I feel uncomfortable.

Brian Alvey (2:06)

I do, too.

SPEAKER_4 (2:07)

Is this anything? A woman in New Hampshire went to an urgent care for treatment after suffering an asthma attack, and they forgot about her, and they locked her in the building for the night.

Like they all went home and just left her there. She called 911 and was rescued. Here's Tia.

SPEAKER_6 (2:27)

I popped my head out and said, Hello.

Hello. Very shocking. Just like I can't believe this just happened to me. Because literally when I was thinking in my head, sitting there at 10 past date, I was like, they would never lock me in. That's crazy talk that only happens in movies or on a show. About 10 past 8, I was like, huh, it's kind of quiet. I'm not sure what's going on. And then I felt a little funny because you always feel funny popping out of the door when you're in a doctor's office. As soon as I got near the door and pressed the door immediately, and it was so shrill and loud, it startled me.

SPEAKER_4 (3:00)

Now, Brian, when I was a kid, I always thought it'd be awesome to be locked in like a toy story or toy store overnight, not necessarily a doctor's office.

Brian Alvey (3:09)

No, no, no. That's a little weird. OK, first off, if you were having an asthma attack, it would have been, in my opinion, a little bit worse than a little bit about asthma. So I don't understand that. But the fact that she was locked in and left.

Can we just say that they need to work on their customer service skills there?

SPEAKER_4 (3:29)

OK, counterargument.

Brian Alvey (3:31)

OK.

SPEAKER_4 (3:31)

Am I a horrible person because I think there are opportunities there? Where's the nitrous?

Brian Alvey (3:37)

Well, dude, I'm like, where's all the good stuff?

SPEAKER_4 (3:40)

Oh, stop booing me, Elise.

SPEAKER_6 (3:41)

Stop booing me. Come on.

Brian Alvey (3:42)

Where's all the feel good narcotics? And why are they still in the drawers? Why are you calling 911? Put them in your pocket. Get rich. Let's go.

SPEAKER_4 (3:51)

Last one. Is this anything? A 26 year old airline passenger in California was arrested after sneaking through an access door at an airport, going on to the tarmac and stealing an airport vehicle. What are those things you drive around on the tarmac? You know what I'm talking about?

Brian Alvey (4:09)

Those want to be golf carts.

SPEAKER_4 (4:11)

Right. That also carries the luggage.

Brian Alvey (4:12)

Yeah, they pull the train behind them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_4 (4:14)

Spoiler, he crashed it. Here is the radio audio along with some travelers.
