The Hammer and Nigel Presents is the song.
Allison (0:06)
It depends upon what the meaning of the word is.
Hammer (0:11)
Is this anything?
Allison (0:13)
All right, let's rock and roll.
Hammer (0:14)
Oh yeah, we're brought to you by Indiana Unclaimed, a program presented by the Attorney General's Office here in Indiana. Breaking records, by the way, Hammer.
Nigel (0:25)
Yeah, baby.
Hammer (0:26)
Breaking records.
They have broken their all time yearly record of $87 million returned through Indiana unclaimed.gov. And we still got three months to go.
Nigel (0:41)
Let's go.
Hammer (0:41)
That's amazing.
Nigel (0:42)
Let's go.
Hammer (0:43)
So the Attorney General's Office, reuniting Hoosiers with over, you know, millions and millions of dollars in unclaimed property every single week, fast, easy, and free to search. They are proud sponsors of Is This Anything? And it's Indiana unclaimed.gov.
Nigel (1:03)
If you don't search, the money then goes to the General Fund, and the General Fund will waste your money. So I'm just telling you, yeah, you think it's going to go to fix the roads. You think it's going to go to something productive? No, it's going to go to a bunch of crap. So go get your money. I trust you more than the government. IndianaUnclaimed.gov.
Is this anything?
The Mezzetta Company has issued a recall for one of their products. Now, it's the jarred little pepper things called the pepperoncenes. Have you seen these little things jarred?
Hammer (1:39)
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We have. I think we have some in our house.
And not Mezzetta, but.
Nigel (1:46)
Well, there was a TikTok video that's going viral that shows not only the pepperoncenes, but also a dead mouse in one of the jars. Take a listen.
SPEAKER_4 (1:58)
Public service announcement to buy this brand of pepperoncenes. I have a dead mouse in mine, just so you guys know.
Nigel (2:07)
And she rotates it to the camera, and you see the dead mouse inside the jar.
Hammer (2:14)
This is something. It might be... Like, would that ruin peppers for you forever? Pepperoncenes, whatever you call them. But I think that in general would ruin it forever for me. Like, I remember when I was four years old, I got...
My grandma cooked some awesome peanut butter cookies for me, but then I got the flu shortly thereafter. I haven't eaten peanut butter cookies since.
Nigel (2:47)
Because it reminds you of the sickness.
Hammer (2:49)
It reminds me of how sick I got. And this is like a hundred times over. A dead mouse?
Like, what are you guys doing?
Nigel (3:00)
Allison, would this be a deal breaker? If you were really into pepperoncinis, pepperoncenis, whatever they're called, and you saw this video, would you think twice about eating them again?
Allison (3:14)
It would ruin it for me.
Nigel (3:15)
Really?
Allison (3:16)
I couldn't, no. Especially if I see the video, which I'm trying not to even look at it right now.
It's just horrible.
Nigel (3:23)
I think I'd still go back. Like, I think that's an anomaly, right? That's something that happens in shipping.
Hammer (3:30)
Yeah.
Allison (3:30)
But just the visual.
Nigel (3:31)
Like, you know how many gross things I've probably eaten at fast food restaurants from, you know, numb nuts employees in the back doing crap to the food and I never even knew about, but I keep going back.
Allison (3:42)
Yeah.
Hammer (3:42)
I mean, when I worked at Burger King, my first job, I dropped a couple of shrimp on the floor and put them back in the basket.
Nigel (3:50)
You know what?
Allison (3:50)
Three second rule.
Nigel (3:51)
I bet they're fine.
Hammer (3:53)
That's more like a ten second rule in my book.
Allison (3:56)
But a dead mouse, that's like a whole other level.
Hammer (4:00)
Enclosed, jarred.
Allison (4:02)
Also, how did that even happen?
Hammer (4:04)
I mean, I guess it was in a factory.
Nigel (4:07)
Yeah.
Allison (4:07)
And it just fell in and it got, oh, death by peppers.
Nigel (4:10)
Right.
I mean, jars of peanut butter, if you look at like the health code, they're allowed to have certain numbers of hairs inside of them. But it doesn't sour me on peanut butter, though.
Hammer (4:26)
Bug, hairs and roaches and stuff like that.
Nigel (4:29)
It's just part of the shipping and the manufacturing process. So yeah, it's a freak thing. Now, if you told me there were 15 jars of Mezzettis that all had mice in them, then maybe that's a deal breaker. But it's just one.
I'm not going to freak out about it.
