Is this anything? The pilot of a small airplane and a student on board were forced to make an emergency landing on a Florida highway after experiencing engine trouble.
Now, nobody was hurt, but here's the radio call and trucker Eric Jordan.

We're completely propped up. We're probably going down on I-10.

**Pat** (1:04)
Roger. It's at your instruction, safest possible spot.

**Allison** (1:06)
We'll get the vehicles out free. We are not making the airport. We're going down on I-10.

If I wouldn't have seen that shadow over my truck, as you see in the video, it was a close call from the truck and what I signed, but he landed. He was a good pilot. He was a good instructor. It was a miracle that he landed that thing with no problem.

**Nigel** (1:25)
Yeah, I'm not flying ever again in a small airplane, if that happens to me, once. Once, I'm one and done. Finding a new career, finding if I'm some sort of instructor, I'm going to go with driver's ed.
Probably have a better chance of perishing driver's ed than I do an airplane instructor, a pilot, you know, private, for private pilots. But I don't you hear of this kind of thing happening all the time, every week Hammer landing on the interstate. Yeah, you're going to land on the interstate, but good. Thank God nobody was around.

**Pat** (2:06)
Right. Like that was my biggest fear when we were flying back from Ireland because I went to Ireland about a month ago and you're flying over the ocean. And I know all these, you know, people say, well, technically, we're only 30 minutes away from somewhere where there's land.

**Nigel** (2:23)
Yeah.

What if I don't have 30 minutes?

What if I don't have that level of time?

You're taking that 30 minutes for granted. What if you only have 10 minutes?

Right. Right. I'll have a soft landing in the middle of the ocean.

You know, it's funny you mentioned that. So Denny Smith of the Home and Garden Show, he has a pilot license. So he has a little what they call gyrocopter, which Pat describes as a flying lawnmower.
This is something he's built, right? Something he's built, and it's a tiny plane, kind of like that. So he's offered to have me in it, and I go back and forth because I do trust Denny.

Do not get in that thing. Are you kidding me? Don't get in that thing, Allison.

**Allison** (3:16)
I feel like it's a once in a lifetime, like maybe just do it once to check it off my box.

**Nigel** (3:20)
But that gyrocopter thing that Denny has?

**Allison** (3:23)
Yeah. Is that what you're talking about?

**Nigel** (3:25)
No, do not get into that thing. You're out of your mind.

No, I have experience with it. I don't have experience with Denny's, but my dad had a kit copter that he...

**Allison** (3:42)
Kit copter.

**Nigel** (3:43)
No, he really did. He had a kit copter, and he had a guy come out and train him for a week. And he doesn't mind me telling this story, Hammer. He got about 10 feet off the ground, and the copter just turned right over, and gas started spilling everywhere. And he was okay. We had to call the fire department and everything. I wasn't there for it.
But, no, don't get into one of those things.
