It's only, I'm only taking a couple of days off, but honestly a lot has happened in the one day I took off that it's really funny that that was the day. But not so much that it's hard to keep up with it.
There's talk of new AI devices, there's talk of M7. I mean, this rumor cycle can't seem to take a break, honestly.

No, it can't. I'm upset about the M7 though.
Because the M6 here, here in the UK the M6 is a motorway from roughly where I am to roughly London. So I used to use it a lot and I identified with the M6. It goes to the BBC down the M6 a couple of times a week. Leave before it got light, back after midnight, it was great. What does the M7 do? I have no idea. But apparently Apple's skipping some M6s and going to M7s, and I can actually tell that you don't have the hang up of motorways that I do. You actually understand what's going on. So how about we do with that first? The room is about the M7s. What's not getting it? What is getting it? We should do a list.
What should we look out for with M7?

Well, before we get there, I did want to mention Apple Insider Plus. We're going to be talking about devices that could either replace or augment iPhone thanks to AI.
We saw that first wave of AI devices a few years ago, the Rabbit and the Humane Pen. Oh, yes. Now, we are going to discuss what is being cobbled up now by these competitors with Apple and other companies. Just want to talk a little bit more about that world, AI in general. There's a lot going on in that space.
William, I'm going to hold it to you to remind me of the 404 media piece, not 404, I'm actually thinking of David Jorgensen. He's a video guy on Blue Sky who did a video recently starring Tim Cook.

I'll remember it for the second time. But yes, we're going to be discussing all that on Apple Insider Plus, so if you are a paid subscriber, stick around for that. Of course, you also get the show ad free, so that's all there. But first, M6, M7, where are we? From the sounds of it, it looks like that this RAM apocalypse that we're running into has forced Apple to change course on its roadmap.
It's going to have to release the M6 base chip and that's it. No M6 Pro, M6 Max, M6 Ultra.

So, hang on, does that mean inside Apple, there are some poor designers who are sweated over this thing and it's never going to be released? This is like working in television.
Okay. But you were saying, we're carrying straight on.

**Wesley Hilliard** (4:05)
Yeah. So, those chips basically would require higher RAM pairs and making them incredibly expensive. So, I think Apple is just going to, and because we are later in the cycle this time, we're probably going to wait. Now, there is some discussion. Did Apple actually not plan these chips or was it always the plan to only have an M6 option? I don't think that's the case. Rumors always indicated Apple was working on the higher end chips here. Previous rumors placed the quad M6 Ultra in this generation. So, for it to not happen here shows that this industry shift is quite a big one.
