All right, welcome to The Young Turks, Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola with you guys. We've got a special guest for you in just a minute. But first, I want to tell you what's happening on the show. JD Vance is out there doing a CYA operation, pretending that he was always against the war. The New York Times is helping him out. We'll get to that. And the important implication of that story is not just about JD Vance in 2028 More importantly, it's about which direction this war is going. Spoiler alert, not a good one. In fact, later in the show, we're gonna explain how the war has now widened. The Houthis have taken even more territory than yesterday. And now we're down two straights, not just one.
And I believe we're at this point in an unprecedented situation where we're not in a quagmire. We're not bogged down. We're literally losing a war, which is unreal. But that's where we are today.
Meanwhile, Israel first, of course, always wildly attacking.
No amount of wars in the Middle East is enough. They want more and more. And they have found a new target, the person who they are most upset at, and it is Ro Khanna. So they've started attacking him now. How dare you?
SPEAKER_2 (1:25)
Opposing Israel is anti-Semitic.
Cenk Uygur (1:28)
You should be eliminated from politics, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I will go off on them later. And the Democrats and their infinite incompetence can't figure out what to do with the AI potential meltdown of existence.
They're still studying whether they should study it. So we'll get to Hakeem Jeffries and his intense incompetence, a little later. But first, the Republicans are having some sort of midterm convention, and Tara Palmeri went to it. There was a lot of crazy things that happened in that convention, talking about killing Abdul El-Sayed, showing Hassan Piker's underwear, and Trump calling some of the Republicans ugly, like physically, literally. But Tara asked questions about Jeffrey Epstein.
They don't like that. So Tara joins us now.
Tara Palmeri (2:25)
Good to see you.
Thanks for having me. Yeah, so I went to the convention, the second day of the convention. And I was with three Epstein survivors. By the way, they had guest passes. They're allowed to attend just like every American. And I was there as a member of the press. And so we were talking to a congressional candidate. And we asked him, well, I asked him, will you vote to release the rest of the files? Will you vote to continue hearings? Very basic questions. Do you believe other people should be prosecuted outside of Glenn Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein? It was very calm interaction. And we only spoke to him. That was the only person we spoke to. No signs, no shirts, no protests, just like four women having a conversation with actually a very pleasant man who at the end of the conversation shook my hand and gave me his card and said, call me anytime. But apparently, just being in that stadium was a sign of aggression. And I turned around and there were four burly security guards telling me that I had to leave, and not just me, the three Epstein survivors. They also had to leave. And we were all removed from the stadium. We were there for a total of 35 minutes inside. That's it. That's all we got inside. And they walked us out, and it was just very aggressive. I literally fell down the stairs on my way out, because they were just pushing us, not physically pushing, but they were hassling us to move out as quickly as possible.
It was so uncalled for.
You can see the video.
SPEAKER_4 (4:05)
I mean, this would happen.
Cenk Uygur (4:07)
Yeah, and it depends on your definition of uncalled for. I mean, if you're trying to hide a giant pedophile ring, then maybe it is called for.
And if you feel guilty about it, and you know that it was you, then maybe it is called for to kick out the Epstein survivors. But let's show that video that Tara's talking about. Let's go to the one where she's interviewing the congressional candidate, and then John and I will ask a couple questions.
Tara Palmeri (4:33)
As soon as we were done, some very burly looking security guards, at least three of them were around me.
And they were telling me that I had to leave the premises. So, I walked away with the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein. It was not a great situation. They wouldn't tell me why I was being removed. They just said, your press credentials can be revoked for any reason. It's not harassing this man. But thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it.
