The DOJ rated Ilhan Omar's house and the whole situation is likely much worse than people are putting together at this point. On October 12th at six in the morning, Homeland Security agents rated Ilhan Omar's DC home armed with a federal search warrant as a part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

They snatched up a bunch of boxes of documents and then left in a cloud of secrecy. The DOJ would only say that it had secured the warrant and that the investigation was ongoing. Now rumors are just absolutely whipping around, but so far no charges have been filed and they honestly haven't even named a crime that they're accusing Ilhan Omar of at this point. Now listen, she could be as guilty as the day is long. That is possible, but the timing of this from where I'm sitting is just way too conveniently tied to the midterms. Now it's not necessarily about her runoff given that she's in one of the safest districts in the country, they're going to vote blue. That is just a foreshays at this point. But as a way, one way to read this would be that Trump is trying to flex to show his base that he's doing something. But my question becomes doing something about what exactly? That's the question. And this is where I would like to offer a warning to the Trump administration right now.

Right now I am assuming that this really is a case of the Trump administration weaponizing the Justice Department. And I am no fan of Ilhan Omar's policies or her view of America.

But if the way that the Trump administration is approaching this is simply, well, you guys did it to me and now I'm going to be doing it back to you, that is a recipe for disaster. This is exactly how we end up in a populist death loop where everybody is weaponizing the Justice Department against everybody else. And whenever somebody comes into power, they are going to pursue you.
