I Exposed the Dead Internet Theory in 2016 — Nolan Wells Proves It | Jason Whitlock Harmony

Jason Whitlock explains how Luke asking about Dead Internet Theory sparked a bigger realization about Nolan Wells, Colin Kaepernick, and "Black Twitter." Whitlock argues he warned in 2016 that automated accounts and media activists manufactured consensus from Trayvon Martin to Nolan Wells.

My producer, Luke, walked in yesterday and asked me if I had heard of the dead internet theory. I told him, no, I hadn't. He explained it. Most of the internet is fake. Bots, algorithms and staged accounts drive the traffic in the outrage. That's what he told me. I kind of giggled, laughed excitedly, like, wow, that's interesting. And I acted like I had never heard it. But then later I realized that they just gave a new name to what I detailed in 2016 about Colin Kaepernick. I did this in September of 2016 Colin Kaepernick is kneeling and I'm on FS1 in 2016

Listen to how I explain Colin Kaepernick. There's a deadly cultural war being waged that isn't being discussed on Fox News, MSNBC or CNN. Cyber humans versus humans. People whose reality is shaped by the internet versus people whose reality is shaped by the real world. Right now, cyber humans are crushing humans. It might be the most one-sided war in the history of the world. Cyber humans live on three planets, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. They use Facebook to promote their delusional lifestyles. They visit Instagram for sex, and they use Twitter to control what all of us think. Twitter is their weapon of war. Cyber humans control the media and celebrities, America's tastemakers, through Twitter. They bully us in to bind into their sense of reality with Twitter bots and thought police and lynch mobs. Twitter is why the media and celebrities believe police are indiscriminately killing large numbers of black men. Twitter is why Colin Kaepernick believes police brutality is a bigger threat to black men than mass incarceration and poverty. Twitter is why Kaepernick and his supporters think the best way to show that black lives matters is by being publicly angry when a white police officer kills a black man unjustly and silent when a black man kills a black boy unjustly. Twitter is a cesspool of 140 character bigotry. It's the virus spreading racial division in the real world. Cyberhumans spend their lives locked in this virtual world, unable to see the humanity in their classmates, next door neighbors and coworkers, unwilling to accept that good people might disagree with them. They filter out flawed human beings and only let like-minded cyberhumans enter their smartphone reality. They avoid connecting, talking and engaging in the real world in a real way. They duck their heads and stare at their phones. For cyberhumans, it's safer to tweet and text and snap. But is it safer for us, those of us who visit the cyber world, but prefer living in the real world?

That was 2016 I said America had split in two, cyberhumans versus humans. Real humans lived in the physical world. They worked, raised families, answered to facts. Cyberhumans lived in the phone. They lived in feeds, likes, and viral emotion. I said the cyber world would eat the real world. Decisions would be made by what trended, not by what happened. Wikipedia defines the dead internet theory this way. A concept that asserts that the internet consists primarily of bot activity and automated content manipulated by algorithmic curation. The phenomenon is a coordinated effort to control the population and reduce genuine human interaction.

Wiki says this idea started in 2021 in an anonymous post on Agora Road. Then the Atlantic wrote it up that September. That timeline is false. I laid this out on television in 2016 through Kaepernick and the anthem.

No agenda clipped it in 2018 because the pattern was already clear. The 2021 writers just rebranded it. The definition is accurate. Much of what you see online is not human. Automated accounts flood the zone. Algorithms boost fakery and bury reality. Engagement is staged. Outrageous program. Control perception and you control belief. Tell the machine what to amplify and the machine tells people what is true. Its greatest invention was and has been black Twitter. Not a community, a weapon. An engine that drove the entire Black Lives Matter movement. It redefined black identity and dictated what black Americans are supposed to care about. The formula never changed. A black person dies. White involvement is alleged. Rumor spreads. Alleged black accounts flood the timeline. Mainstream media cites the timeline as confirmation. The verdict is set before the investigators speak. From Trayvon Martin to Michael Brown to George Floyd and Breonna Taylor to Nolan Wells. Same operation. Volume replaced evidence. Repetition replaced reporting. If enough alleged accounts posted about it, television treated it as true. That is how you get Sean King and DeRay McKesson. Remember them? Sean King, the white guy, pretending to be the black guy. He came from absolutely no where. A former pastor and blogger repackaged as the moral voice of a movement. Newspaper columnist in New York. Fundraiser. King of retweets. Television treated him like a historic prophet. Then questions about money piled up. Credibility collapsed. Once the George Floyd wave finished, Sean King faded back toward irrelevance.
