How do you make sure that when ChatGPT recommends your short-term rental, the guest actually clicks "book"? 🤔 While everyone is racing to get surfaced by AI search tools, a mere citation on Claude or Perplexity does not move money.

If you've been paying attention to the AI conversation over the last couple of years, and if you're watching this video, you likely have been. You probably heard a lot about visibility in AI. How to get excited by AI tools. How to make sure that when a guest starts looking up destinations of their choice for their next holiday, in ChatGPT, hey ChatGPT, where should I go with my family? Of six for a week away in somewhere at a beach. That ChatGPT, ultimately, when the conversation turns to stays, you show up, you are cited, you are found.
And that's not wrong. Obviously, you do want to make sure that you are showing up wherever people are looking to travel inspiration. But that's also not the whole story, right? Because here's the thing, a citation on ChatGPT doesn't pay your bills.

A human still has to click through and land somewhere and find your listing and click, book, make that payment. And what they find on ChatGPT or Claude or Perplexity doesn't really give them a reason to choose you specifically. You know, that citation is basically useless. Hi, I'm Uvika Wahi from RSU by PriceLabs, your go-to source for short-term rental news and insights. We don't just deliver the news, we make sense of it for you, for your short-term rental management business.
And today I'm really excited to have this conversation with Neely Khan, founder of Artword Creative and the creator of the Kahani Framework, which she describes as the world's first GEO plus storytelling framework for hospitality brands. And the short version of what she does, I will let her explain in more detail and with a lot more skill what she does, is that she helps brands be found by AI and chosen by humans. And that the second part is what we're going to focus a lot on during this interview. Hi Neely, how are you doing today?

**Neely Khan** (1:57)
I am great. Thank you so much for that lovely punchy introduction. Thank you for having me.

**Uvika Wahi** (2:03)
Thank you so much for making time. I'm really excited for our conversation today because, well, this is not a new conversation. All of us are very used to hearing about, hey, everybody must use AI. More and more people are using AI. 40 percent people today are using AI to plan their travels, to be inspired to travel. So, okay, we've established that baseline. We know people are using AI before they travel to decide where they travel to.
However, you've obviously been talking about something very important in your presentations, in your conversations in the industry. You are an expert in the subject matter, of course, and so it's really useful to have you on board and really get into the meat of things, which is that ultimately, you want to be found by AI, but it's the humans who choose you. So, please share with us a little bit more about this train of thought, and we'll get into how that applies through professional short-term rental management, tell us a bit about Kahani, and yeah, please take it away.

**Neely Khan** (3:01)
Thank you. So, I love the premise that you've started on already, because oftentimes when we have these conversations, the topic of getting found on AI, as you know, has kind of dominated a lot of the conferences that we go to, social media at large, and actually the idea of Kahani, our framework, first came to me. The seed was very much planted at the Scale Italia Conference, which was last year in Genoa, in Italy, hosted by Tarahum Consulting, Cristiana and her team, and of course, Damian and his team too.
Richard Vorton did an excellent presentation called The Third Door.
That presentation was in layman's terms, covering how short-term rental brands, property managers need to be very aware of absolutely their websites, their online presence, but now also this third door that he referred to as AI visibility, how AI is currently recognizing them, interpreting them. I was listening to that presentation. I was thinking to myself at the time, a lot of what Richard is covering. For me, my background is in writing. I was a freelance copywriter for a good 10 years before I started running the agency. My work has always been about optimizing content for digital presence and also for human readability, the second part being very important. Actually, the principles of doing both overlap. So inherently and so beautifully with the principles of GEO. So I went home, returned back to the UK and I did some research about how do we write for AI and visibility. A lot of the practices that I was seeing, I was finding that actually these are things that good, decent copywriters, marketers, good content strategists should be doing anyway. It's just that now we should be thinking to ourselves, okay, AI is now looking at and interpreting the content we put out there. Then I thought to myself with my background also being heavily in story, that's always been my niche. I've always had this deep fascination with how humans interpret things and how humans make decisions.
