How to Partner with the Holy Spirit

So good, good morning, good morning, church. I love saying it twice, when it's twice, you know it's gonna be good. So good, I'm so excited to be here this morning and to be bringing the word to you guys. Oh, I love it, I love being in this space. I love everything about this place, and I love seeing each and every one of you here. So as was said, my name is Twinkee Polius, it's actually my name. I actually had someone ask me to see my birth certificate once, or my ID card, but it is my name. I am one of the leaders here at City Lights, and I am from St. Lucia, not in Brisbane, from the Caribbean. That's something that I always have to say after St. Lucia, because a lot of people think that I'm from Brisbane. I am not. I am from the Caribbean, here is my accent. September of this year would be six years since I've been in Ausland. It's been great. Australia have been good to me. And I've been going to City Lights for five amazing years. And what has been really encouraging is that the way that I have seen, God transformed so many different areas of my life. But I've also gotten an opportunity to see that in other people's lives and that is just truly amazing. Some things that you should know about me. I love me some good matchy-matchy suits, as you can see.
Someone said, we approve. Thank you. Also, I am not a fan of the beach. Now, I know what you're thinking. Ah, she's from the Caribbean, and she should love the beach. I don't. I am not a fan of the sun, the salt, the sea, or the sand. There you go. There you have it. Please don't judge me, and I hope we can still be friends. Another thing you should know about me is that I am passionate about creating spaces where people get to experience the presence of God and partner with him. It is my heart's desire. So we have been in our how to series, and it has been life changing, hasn't it been? Oh, yes. Thank you guys. It has been life changing. Last week, Pastor John spoke on how to overcome, and I encourage you, if you haven't listened to this message, please do, because it will encourage you and it will transform your life. So please have a listen. Throughout this series, we have been answering real questions and learning how to leave the timeless truth of God's word in practical, everyday ways. We have been discovering that Jesus does not want to only change our beliefs, but he wants to change every area of our lives. And this morning, we will continue with our series with the topic, how to partner with the Holy Spirit. Now this message is just the beginning of what we can learn when it comes to partnering with the Holy Spirit. And my prayer for us this morning is that it will be a vehicle, a stepping point, a stepping stone, that we can continue to move further, whether we are just starting this journey or we are continuing in it. While praying for the message this morning, I was encouraged by the Holy Spirit that he delights and he desires that each and every one of us has friendship with his presence. This is something that he delights and he wants each and every one of us to have friendship with the Holy Spirit. And I feel like this morning, there are some of us who are here today, all those listening online, and you have accepted Jesus Christ in your life and said yes to him, but you feel disqualified. You feel unsure if God wants to give you this, his good gift of the Holy Spirit. In Luke chapter 11 verse 18, it says, and it should be on the screen, the word of God says, if you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? There you have it, proof, that he wants to give you the gift of the Holy Spirit. And if you are here today and you feel disqualified, and you feel unsure, let me tell you, it is his desire, it is his wanting. If you are here today and you are new to church, you are new to anything concerning the Holy Spirit or the presence of God, let me also tell you, this gift is available to you in saying yes to Jesus Christ, and we will have an opportunity to do that later on in the service.
