Thanks for asking. Covid allowed many people to work from home for the first time and created a world where more flexible hybrid working, mixing office work and working from home is now possible. But there are things to keep in mind to optimise this type of experience should you stick to a set schedule. According to Professor Jonathan Trevor at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School, he suggests that it's better to match the task to the environment rather than following a strict schedule. He found that focused creative tasks such as designing a brochure can be easily done from home as they require little teamwork and are easily supported by technology, whereas more collaborative tasks are better done in the office with the hive mind of your colleagues. If you're in that mode of work, then maybe it's appropriate you should have more time in the office, whereas if you're doing individual focus work, the balance may be more weighted towards virtual working, Trevor said in the Guardian newspaper. How can you build team spirit? One of the problems with working from home and not seeing colleagues is that you don't have much opportunity to bond and build up a rapport which is important for trust and a sense of organisational culture.
Organisational culture is the expectations, culture, philosophy of a company. Weak organisational culture tends to be associated with higher levels of conflict and mistrust. So for this reason, not only is important to spend some time in the office, but according to Trevor, managers need to develop skills to manage people in a virtual way that still keeps them engaged and helps them to identify with the organisation they're working for.

By working from home, there's often a blur between where work starts and life begins. Although a lot of people don't like commuting, it does provide a kind of physical buffer zone between work and home, said Professor Gail Kinman, an occupational health psychologist at Birkbeck University of London. So finding another way to separate your work day from your home life is an important step to help you switch off and transition from one to the other.
Establishing a routine like cycling around the block, meditating, or another simple activity you enjoy can take the place of the unpleasant commute. Who is hybrid work not good for? Well, the flexibility, time saved on the commute, and comfort of working from home is great for some, it's not for everyone. So imposing this work style is not a good idea either.
