How To Build A Multi-Six Figure Video Production Business Using Cold Emails | With Anthony Craparotta

6 Figure Creative

June 29, 2021

Most freelance creatives face one large problem: they need more clients. Anthony offered an amazing service, but struggled to fill his calendar with paid work. Instead of sitting around, relying on “hope marketing”, he took marketing into his own hands and started emailing his ideal clients.

This is the 6 Figure Creative Podcast, Episode 152

Welcome to the 6 Figure Creative Podcast, where our mission is to help you turn your creative passions into a stable, reliable income. If you're in audio, video, design, photography, or really any other creative field, and you just want to learn from other successful creatives, you're in the right place. Welcome back to another episode of the 6 Figure Creative Podcast. I am your host, Brian Hood, and I'm here with my big, bald, beautiful, purple-shirted co-host, Christopher J. Graham.

Christopher J. Graham (0:34)

Big.

Brian Hood (0:35)

Big, bald, beautiful. What, I'm speaking about your mustache, which you still haven't gotten rid of.

Christopher J. Graham (0:41)

Oh yeah, man, it's, if I jumped off, like, I don't know, an airplane, I wouldn't need to parachute. This thing is big enough to.

Brian Hood (0:48)

There's so much resistance in that one mustache to parachute your big ass 40,000 feet to the ground.

Christopher J. Graham (0:55)

I love it. That's so good.

Yeah, I've always wanted one. How are you, Brian?

Brian Hood (0:59)

Man, I'm going to be 100% real with you right now. I've like got this.

What's the term, malaise? Is that the term?

Christopher J. Graham (1:06)

Maybe?

Brian Hood (1:07)

I'm going to look that up real quick so I can share a new word with people. Malaise.

Yes, a general feeling of discomfort, illness, or uneasiness whose exact cause is difficult to identify. Malaise.

Christopher J. Graham (1:18)

Oh my.

Brian Hood (1:19)

Could y'all hear that on Zoom? I hit the Google like pronounced thing, malaise.

Christopher J. Graham (1:25)

Malaise.

Brian Hood (1:26)

Yeah, that's where I'm at right now. It's nothing, it's like not a severe thing. It's not depression. It's not really even burnout, but it's like that feeling when you slept too late on a cloudy morning and you just feel like crap.

That's kind of where I've been the last few days where I'm like, I feel like I'm not making any progress and stuff. So that's the real Brian, but everyone that's listened to this podcast or any number of time has heard that Brian.

Christopher J. Graham (1:46)

I like to take malaise and mix it with ketchup and dip French fries in it.

Brian Hood (1:50)

You savage.

I know you mean mayonnaise, and that's your pun that you're trying to do right now. But anyone who mixes mayo with mayonnaise is an absolute savage. It's disgusting. I do not support it. I do not, uh-uh, not on this podcast.

Christopher J. Graham (2:03)

Do you know what mayonnaise is made of?

Brian Hood (2:05)

It's made of olive oil and egg.

Christopher J. Graham (2:08)

And you add acid. Like, so you put like vinegar in it and it literally rots the eggs.

And that's mayonnaise.

Brian Hood (2:14)

Yeah, I've tried to make it myself before because I've never liked store-bought mayonnaise. And I was like, if I make it myself, maybe I'll like it. But then you have to like have either a really good mixer or you have to be really fast with a whisker to get a whiskers like you're, ha ha.

To get the, to get the emulsion to hack, actually. Okay, so let's back out of here. We're so far deep, like down the stupid rabbit hole. And we have our guests sitting here staring at us saying, what the hell? So let's actually, Chris, I'm gonna let you intro our guest because our guest is a certified badass. And I don't want to mess this up because you know him better than I do. So really quick, tell us who our guest is.

And then we're gonna start talking to him.

Christopher J. Graham (2:47)

Well, I'll tell you what, Anthony, why don't you just quickly say hello, tell us who you are briefly, and then I'm gonna tell everybody how freaking awesome you are.

Anthony Craparotta (2:57)

Hello, everybody. My name is Anthony. I run a company called lyricvids.com. We're based in Toronto, Canada, in the great north.

And we are the web's number one Lyric video company. We produce animated video content for artists and record labels all over the world.

Christopher J. Graham (3:11)

Oh boy, I'm so excited.

Brian Hood (3:12)

There's so much to unpack in that little blurb he just said.

Christopher J. Graham (3:16)

So Anthony, I've had the amazing opportunity of doing business coaching with you. And your business is absolutely amazing. Your story is so cool in that you went from a number of things to focusing on making Lyric videos for people.

And at this point, is it fair to say you've worked with every major label on the face of the planet?
