Hello, everyone, and welcome to another informative episode of Refining Rhetoric. I've been so excited to have our guest, Meeke Addison, on the show. She's co-founder of CultureProof, a ministry which equips Christians to live faithfully every day. And that's what we're trying to do right here on Refining Rhetoric. Along with her husband, Will, Meeke hosts CultureProof podcasts, which takes current events, politics, and the state of the church, all filtered through a biblical lens. She's a woman teacher and speaker with a focus on encouraging Christians to understand the time in which God has placed them and what it means to live for His glory.
She's been married to Will for 20 years, and together they have discipled six children. Praise the Lord. Meeke, welcome to the show.

Thank you so much for having me.

Now you are homeschooling in Louisiana, and now you're co-hosting a national platform talking about biblical worldview. Just tell us a little bit about your experience homeschooling, discipling your children, and what you're hoping, what you do today.

**Meeke Addison** (1:54)
Yeah, so actually I probably need to update this. Will the Great and I have been married now 21 years, and we have six kids and one on the way. So like, well, actually by the time this podcast airs, the baby will be here. So we have seven kids, I should say, looking ahead. But the Lord really started out for my husband and myself, we were missionaries, and we were missionaries to college campuses. So we were evangelists, we would go campus to campus and equip students to reach their university. So that means that we would plant ourselves for like weeks at a time and equip the ministry that was already on hand on how to disciple, how to train, how to equip so that they could go out and evangelize their secular university campus. So we did that for a number of years. That's where we sort of got our training and went into ministry. And then in Louisiana, my husband embarked upon a church plant that took us both out of that line of missionary work. And at the time, so this was like 2006, at the time we had one kid on the way. And then in January 2007, our first child was born. And one of the things that I realized was that, okay, yes, a lot was changing for us, but I'm not a TV watcher. So I'm not like, you know, it's not bonbons on the couch. And I'm like, okay, so what do I do with all of this time that I have? Now I have just one kid. And so I started doing Bible studies with women inside my home, just sort of continuing, just such a passion for God's word and teaching and equipping the body of Christ, namely women. And about that time, this was in Louisiana, we're originally from New Orleans, and at this time we're living in Lafayette. About that time, my husband comes to me, we've got like a four month old, and he says, hey, I want to throw out an opportunity and just see if you're interested in this, you know? And we had a local American Family Radio, AFR radio station, broadcasting out of Lafayette. And the morning host needed a co-host.
And my husband said, Meeke, I really think you could help him out. I think you'd be great just to talk to him about current events, play some music. Our oldest is Mariah, she's 19
He goes, you could bring Mariah with you. And several things I just have to say, okay? And I'm not ashamed of this. So anybody wanting to judge, go right ahead. I'm not a morning person, okay? So a morning drive time radio show.
