How to Attract What You Want w/ Jodie Cook | Ep 440

The Futur with Chris Do

July 1, 2026

What happens when two people who've both manifested real results sit down to compare notes? Chris and Jodie Cook dig into the mechanics of manifestation; not as a spiritual exercise, but as a practical framework for getting what you want without becoming obsessed with it.

Siri and Alexa and Google, they're always listening to us because they're waiting for our commands. It is feeding a very giant computer brain somewhere. Let's accept that this is true.
And the easiest way you can tap into that is, the people who are creating the kind of content needs to know what it is you're interested in. And if you touch and look at anything or search, it's going to send you more of what you're looking for. We know that. The minute you click on an ad for a car, more car ads are going to come your way. And eventually, you'll find a deal that's really good, that meets all the criteria that you have, and you'll be in the lot driving home in your new car.
So we go one level of abstraction, just one tiny little baby level abstraction. The universe is listening, the universal brain is listening, and it's going to serve you people, ideas, and things that you want more of. Until you have to make a decision, do I want this or do I not want this?

This is going to sound super woo-woo, but I don't even care because I feel like it doesn't matter. You might enjoy it.
I made a vision board last year, and on it, I put a bench press shirt, which is what I wear to bench press equipped. And I put that on it to represent winning the world championships in my sport, which is equipped bench press. And then not long after it, I went to a training session with a GB coach for the bench press team, and he handed me a new shirt. And then I realized after, it was the exact same shirt on my vision board, like the same brand, the same color, the same everything, and I was like, oh my God, that's really weird. I feel like I manifested a bench shirt. And then I told my friend about it, he's really, really into this. And she was like, yeah, you are totally manifesting wrong.
You put on your vision board that you wanted to win the world championships, but you put a picture of the bench shirt. So she was like, this is really good because it shows that you've got a connection, you can manifest stuff, but now you need to do it right. You have to be very specific about what you want. You can't just put this and it means that. It has to have words and everything. I was like, okay. So the other day, I typed into YouTube how to manifest. And I found this girl called, she's called Amy Westmoreland. She's got a channel with about 120,000 subscribers. And I watched her four step process for manifesting. And it was like, so step one is you have to say what you want. Like, I want a chocolate chip cookie. And then step two is you have to say what you want, but be very specific and then talk about it as if you've already got it. So like, I want a chocolate chip cookie. I want it to be really warm and really tasty. And oh my God, I can't believe I got this chocolate chip cookie. Like, I never thought I would, but now I've got it and it's here and it tastes amazing. It's really good. And then set three, which she said is kind of controversial, is she's like, then you have to kind of acknowledge the doubt. So you have to say, I don't know how I'm going to get a chocolate chip cookie. And for her, she was like, it's during COVID, it's in my house. I'm in my house. I can't go outside. I haven't got any chocolate chip cookie ingredients in the house. I haven't got them here. So I don't even really know if it's possible, but that has never stopped me before. Before I have had doubt and things have still come my way. And then step four was that you have to release the need to have the thing that you manifested. So it's like, you know what? I don't even want a chocolate chip cookie that much. Like I'm fine without one. Maybe I don't even like that that much. And I definitely don't need one to survive. My life is already fine without one. So I went through these four steps and then I tried it with a bunch of different stuff. But then also I wrote up her four step sequence in a new article for Forbes, just as it was in my mind. And I used her example in it.
And then published the article, didn't really think anything else of it. And then a couple of days later, I'm walking down the exact street in Lisbon. I walked down like a hundred times before, the exact same time on the way, just someone specific. And one of the bakeries, kind of someone comes out and he's got this entire tray of chocolate chip cookies. And he comes up to me and he's like, hey, do you want a sample? And I was like, oh, yeah, cool. We just took one. And then a couple of minutes later, I was like, no, I actually did this.
