This is the 6 Figure Creative Podcast, Episode 163

Welcome to the 6 Figure Creative Podcast, where our mission is to help you turn your creative passions into a stable, reliable income. If you're in audio, video, design, photography, or really any other creative field, and you just want to learn from other successful creatives, you're in the right place.

Welcome back to another episode of the 6 Figure Creative Podcast. I am your host, Brian Hood, and I'm here with my big, bald, beautiful, purple-shirted, refuses to wear a large, even though he's a large guy. He's still in a medium shirt, 6'1, 200 pounds. My man, Christopher J. Graham. How you doing today, my dude?

Christopher Graham (0:38)

I just love getting intro'd, man. I'm doing great now.

Brian Hood (0:41)

It's always a surprise. I'll just make it up. I don't know what I'm going to say today. Sometimes you're sexy. Yeah, yeah. Feels good.

Oh, I'm doing good, my dude. I'm enjoying my new background that I have in my place. If anyone is now watching the video podcast, because we used to just only be audio, so anyone who's listening to the audio should go watch our video podcast on YouTube. I took some time to make the room a little better, to make the vibes a little better.

And I'd like to know what you think, Chris. Do you think it's a little better vibes or it's too much? Is it too extra?

Christopher Graham (1:09)

It's a little extra.

And we've talked about this a little bit. I think you need better lighting.

Brian Hood (1:15)

Yeah, I agree with that. My lighting kind of sucks, but it's what you get when you get a relatively cheap LED kit. But you know what?

I like it.

Jay Clouse (1:23)

I like it better than I had before.

Brian Hood (1:24)

Oh, there's a stranger in the video.

Christopher Graham (1:26)

What was that noise?

Brian Hood (1:27)

Who was that?

Christopher Graham (1:28)

Hark, I hear a podcast guest sitting next to me in my very own office.

Jay Clouse (1:33)

Amazing. I got to say, Brian, now that I'm sitting here next to Chris, you call him big, bald, beautiful. He's not big.

He's regulation-sized.

Christopher Graham (1:40)

Regulation-sized.

Brian Hood (1:41)

You're like, you're 6'2, or something.

Christopher Graham (1:43)

I'm regulation Ohio-size. Ohio makes him bigger.

Jay Clouse (1:46)

That's true.

Brian Hood (1:47)

Jay, how tall are you?

Jay Clouse (1:49)

I'm 5'10.

Brian Hood (1:50)

Yeah, so 5'10's a good size, like a good tall dude, but next to Chris, you're just like, I'm short. That's why you call you big, Chris, not because you're, I don't call you fat. You're not fat.

Christopher Graham (1:58)

Oh, tall. You don't mean...

Okay, I wasn't totally clear on that this whole time, so.

Brian Hood (2:03)

I've been saying that for three years.

Christopher Graham (2:05)

Okay, I guess.

Brian Hood (2:08)

All right, let's rein this in. So today's guest is Jay Clouse. He has a podcast called Creative Elements, which is also one of the cooler podcast arts that I've seen, which is like, he's got the Elements table behind him. Go listen to the podcast. It's a good supplement to the 6 Figure Creative podcast.

And he is also the founder of something called the Freelancing School. Is that right?

Jay Clouse (2:28)

That is correct.

Brian Hood (2:29)

Can I mention something real quick? You can buy Freelancer.school for 400 bucks right now. I went to that site, by the way, and it was available for 400 bucks.

Jay Clouse (2:38)

Freelancer.school?

Brian Hood (2:39)

Yeah.

Jay Clouse (2:40)

400 bucks?

Brian Hood (2:41)

400 bucks right now.

Jay Clouse (2:42)

Maybe I'll do that. I love.school domains. Now, I gotta do it before this airs or it's gonna be gone.

Christopher Graham (2:48)

Let's take a hard left turn here. I have to tell you guys the story of how Jay and I met.

Approximately 15 minutes ago. So Jay and I have a bunch of mutual friends. For some reason, Columbus, Ohio is like a dope place to be a creative business person. So you're here. You know Ben Hartley?

Jay Clouse (3:04)

I don't know Ben Hartley.

Christopher Graham (3:05)

He does the 6 Figure Photography Podcast and he's crushing.

He's at 30 Minutes Up the Road. You know Andy J Pizza?

Jay Clouse (3:11)

I know Andy J Pizza.

Christopher Graham (3:13)

His office is upstairs.

Jay Clouse (3:14)

Josh Hall is also in Columbus. He does a web design podcast. Quah?

Big one.

Christopher Graham (3:20)

Should he, maybe he should be our guest. He should be our guest. Anyways, let me talk to you guys about what was so ridiculous. So I got the studio all set up and I got a brand new flavor of La Croix and I put them out, one for me, one for Jay. It's Limoncello today.
