On Tuesday, OpenAI agent broke out and hacked Hugging Face. Not good, Bob. We'll talk about that, but we also have new Samsung products and our resident Galaxy phone enthusiast Robb Dunewood is here to help us break it down.

Let's start with what you need to know with that big story, Samsung.
Yes, indeed. Samsung held its Summer Galaxy Unpacked in jolly old London. Unpacked in the summer has recently become the place where Samsung introduces its new foldables, and that's mostly what we got. So, of course, as we just mentioned, we asked Robb Dunewood to join us to talk through the announcements. Robb, thank you for joining us off schedule today. I appreciate it.

Oh, it is my pleasure, my pleasure.

So how long have you been using Samsung Galaxy devices now?

**Robb Dunewood** (1:05)
So I had to go back and check. I thought it was the S3 was the first device. That's the first Verizon device that was my primary driver. But my first device I got all the way back in 2011, and it was the Galaxy S2 on AT&T.

**Tom Merritt** (1:19)
OK.

**Robb Dunewood** (1:19)
That's back when BlackBerry was still the dominant device. So it was like I couldn't remember quite which one it was. Yeah, I still have my S3.

**Sarah Lane** (1:26)
I'm surprised you went Samsung while BlackBerry was still dominant because you're such a BlackBerry fan.

**Robb Dunewood** (1:31)
Oh, so yeah, I was dominant on BlackBerry. This was just I like gadgets. So I got an S3, I got an S2, and it was cool. So I think my first Android was like the Droid Razor that I also got in 2011 when I got that BlackBerry Bold 9930E, which was just the best device I've ever owned.
And so I've been using the Galaxy devices all the way back since the two.

Yeah, almost from the start.

It's been a long time.

**Tom Merritt** (1:56)
Well, let's get to today's announcement. Star of the show is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. This is their new foldable. They made a lot about the flex titanium alloy that they're using that makes the device zero point one millimeters thinner than the last model. So four point one. Still technically thinner.
Also makes the crease less visible. I think that's a bigger deal. It has 5,000 milliamp-hour battery. Nice and chunky. Starts at $2,100.
Also nice and chunky. Pre-order is now and it's coming August 7th. Robb, what do you think of the Ultra?

These things are expensive. Now, I will say this.
The crease on the 7 is not that bad.
I'll be lying to you if I told you that it's not noticeable. But when you're looking at it dead on, after you've used it for a few minutes, you just don't notice it anymore. It's there, but you don't really notice it. This, I'm told, is significantly better than even what we see on the 7 So that's pretty cool. The cool thing to me was these things, they've got 5,000 milliamps batteries in them. That's a pretty good battery. It's not using the newest battery technology, but it's a thin device. It has good battery. And this crease now, you don't have to worry about this thing cracking. I think one of the biggest complaints that people have after a while is that the crease just cracks. That is one of the most replaced things that they have to do, is replace the screen or just replace your phone because it does get a crack or it gets a seam in the middle that is just unsightly. So hopefully this flex titanium solves that.

Yeah, the flex titanium seems to be the big innovation in this. Otherwise, it's not all that different than the previous version.

**Robb Dunewood** (3:41)
Not terribly so.
The cameras in it, I think, are about the same which you would get in like the 7, maybe a little bit better. But it is definitely a ultra device. So it is an ultra price on the device as well. It's $100 more than last year.

**Tom Merritt** (4:00)
Than last year, yeah.

**Robb Dunewood** (4:00)
But getting to where it's over $2,000 now, that just makes it feel like it is just a whole other class of device.
